So let me ask you guys this…

In midfield… we already know that Rovella will be back, which means that Berrenechea will be loan out to gain experience. That leave is with Locatelli and Rovella playing for one spot. We have this cover in my mind.

Now… seems that if Rabiot leaves we will probably go for Fratessi and the “dream” would be SMS.

Miretti and Fagioli both stay.

And we have Pogba… if he ever gets back.

We have also Rannochia who by the look of it, I think could be loan out again or even sold since I don’t see much space for him.

That leave us with:

Miretti, Fagioli, Locatelli, Rabiot (Fratessi), Rovella and Pogba.

So… is that enough for you?

It is enough for me.

I'd only try and sell our midfield deadwood.

As for buying, I'd focus on the defense and perhaps a winger/CF kinda hybrid.

Missing somebody Like SMS in our midfield considering Pogba can't counted upon. Ideally Rabiot, Locatelli, SMS, Fagioli, Miretti, Rovella, Pogba.

Yes that'll almost certainly be the midfield next season, barring any surprises. Rabiot or Frattesi, Rovella back (would be bizarre if he wasn't). How good it is depends again on if Rabiot stays and keeps this kind of form/Frattesi settles (I'm not expecting him to be as good as this Rabiot), and if Pogba makes any kind of contribution. The kids will do their roles.

i would not be suprised if one of miretti or brerrenchacha gets sold. not loaned but sold to make room for some plusvalenza.

To me it depends on the health of Pogba. If he still can't play on a regular and consistent base next season, we would be needing one more starting material mid.

SMS is playing as well as ever, he is still a beast at Lazio this season.

Yes that's good. Given our circumstances that's as good a midfield as we can have. Frattesi will already be hard to get due to price and Roma.

Miretti should be loaned

people who already become a part of first team dont get loaned to gain experience, unless they have been given up on. we would make a mockery of ourselves once again. miretti is 19 and barrenechea is already 22. they will have to improve here. we should bring rovella back and call it a day for the midfield.

thin for me

rabiot is the only established international level player, and he's fairly inconsistent. i also think he'll get a better offer from pl and leave eventually. locatelli is also inconsistent and offers very little in attack (might get better with different tactics but he's not likely to turn into a 10 goal midfielder). fagioli's progress is nice to watch but he can't play 2 games per week on a high level (yet). pogba is a virtual player, i wouldn't rely on him at all. rovella might or might not work on the long run; i like the guy but anyone who says that he will 100% be good is just a bit too optimistic. miretti should play more but he's not a starter yet. frattesi is squad player level too.

that midfield, especially without rabiot has zero players who'd start for a top10 european side, and we used to have 4 or at least 2 of those in the last decade. we can either settle for this current overall mediocrity and hope for rovella and fagioli to explode, or sign someone to actually unlock locatelli and all that jazz. i liked the idea of getting an established regista so that loca could play b2b, it's just that paredes isn't a very good player to put it mildly.

btw i don't get why tuz suddenly thinks that sergej wouldn't be a good signing (i think that he'd easily be our best midfielder) and at the same time tuz would be happy with frattesi as a rabiot replacement :boh:

I think the only issue with SMS is the price tag. Any other factor and its no brainer. He is is easily the best midfielder in this league (Barella took a nose dive under Simone).

So I agree that's its bewildering why people act like we don't need him if he would be available. Clear upgrade on Rabiot.

Been in the pocket of Juve mids ever since iirc.

I'm just past him at this point.

Well the only midfielder who can give him a fight IMO is an uninjured Pogba and since this happens only once a year I`d say he is correct and he is the best in Serie A.
Been in our pocket? He plays for Lazio - Lazio are not as good as Juve despite Juve not being the strong familiar Juve.
The question should be how is he against small teams in general and how is he against the big teams (not just Juve)

As for Barella - He is still very good but I see him as a different type to SMS.

Recency bias Bro. The Faggy French Frog has a solid 6 months and everyone thinks he's Zidane reincarnated, Vidal revisited, and are now sucking his dick. JJ Simping for Fagiot is the worst thing since the Intifada.

Since it's one of a few topics I actually agree on with @Badass FIGC, I'll let him do the talking.

But imo he's a flat track bully and shit against good opposition - AND I don't wanna sign a 29 year old mid next season. I'm all on the youth train at this point.

Perhaps change your opinion with new info you stubborn mule :b81:

To acknowledge a player has been good = sucking his dick. Well, ok.

I am acknowledging he has been good you doofus. What I don't and never will approve of is renewing him at these insane numbers being brandied about.

One does not simply forgive and forget 36 months of shitfuckery.
