Breaking: Chelsea have decided not to sign Vlahović. No swap deal with Lukaku.

Oh wow, what a surprise.

I did NOT SEE this coming after all the gurus told us these conversations were taking place. I totally would never guess that maybe nothing would come out of this and a bunch of clickbait journalists and gurus got some ad revenue.

Obviously Pochettino wasn't in favour of signing Vlahovic .
I would be surprised if he was involved. I doubt it even reached that stage.

Juventus have always been the ones pushing Vlahovic to Chelsea for Lukaku on the request of Allegri and also they seek to raise funds for . The Lukaku protests tonight add another layer of complexity to the efforts to let him go. Of course, Lukaku hasn't been given a squad number. The decision to remove him from Pochettino's squad was a joint decision between him and Chelsea.(Nizaar Kinsella)

The club was up for it, Allegri was up for it, but we didn’t find a agreement on the values of the players. The fans added some extra pressure.

Knowing that we basically released a entire generation (Matuidi, Higuain etc) for nothing, it’s unbelievable that we were actually thinking about swapping Vlahovic for Lukaku knowing the age difference. Add the 10m salary of Lukaku on top of that. A player who never had a great reputation and who got benched by a 37 y/o Dzeko in the CL final. Very disappointing and short sighted view of everyone involved at the club.

In our situation selling Vlahovic is understandable, his replacement should be at least 4 years younger than Lukaku.

Like it or not but we owed Pellegrini this much. He helped us a lot by agreeing to basically everything the club wanted for a little plusvalenza. We gave him a fat contract to smooth it down his throat. Good thing we'll have a definitive solution when Lazio get to Europe.

I mean it couldve just been a short term fix (contracts are typically longer than the 3 years they allegedly proposed to Lukaku) until things stabilized. Of course a younger striker would make more sense, but theyre also more expensive when you factor in the transfer fee. Just look at how much Hojlund went for, and he didnt exactly light serie A on fire.
