This is a new war Epic, TV serial, starring Lucy Lawless (Xena) and a Kirk Douglas wonna be...
"Rome" was one my favorite TV shows ever and "The Gladiator" one of my favorite films ever. This is trying to combine them both, but in a "300" fashion...

Lots of sex and gore scenes and a great attention to small details.
(except being historically accurate i suppose)
I havent seen any of the first two episodes just yet, but it seems that the producers were so excited, that had already ordered a second season!!

Did one of our American friends had a first contact with this show?
Is it any where close to the hype?

For me what killed it was gore, there is just too much gore, you watch it and get a feeling that the producers are forcing the gore on you on purpose, not very pleasant feeling.

Other than that i found it bellow avarage, acting was porn film level. No historical figures, sounds were nothing special. For me this series has nothing epic about it.

That sounds disgraceful. As a student of ancient history! Why did someone tell america and that rome and greece were a bit risque? And if they really want to get the roman feel across, all the dudes will be fucking eachother, more than they are fucking women. Thats how it went back then.

Just want to point out to razielislt that Spartacus was a historic figure, he led a slaves rebellion against the romans around 73 bc, during the third Servile War, if my memory serves me well that is. It was a few years before or during Caesars Consol!

Did you watched the show? Becasue this spartacus has nothing to do with the real one ;) His name isn't even spartacus, at the and of the series, some roman dude sais, lets call him spartacus, and that I think wasn't even refered to the real historical spartacus, so realy not so much of historical relevence in the show.

fair enough man, i meant Pompeys consol, i always get the dates between Pompey and Caeser mixed up. I assume as they had called it Spartacus i assume it would be about him.

Best ever series I ever watched, plus the porn scenes, amazing! :D

Sucks to see Andy suffering from cancer, without him, the series will definitely not be the same :sigh:

i read that he won't act in the 2nd season...because the plot will (/is because it started) be before batiatus had spartacus.
