I also never understood their mission of not selling their advertising area on jerseys for sponsors and also giving UNICEF more or less 1% of their income for the good of the poor children.
Like it wouldn't be more intelligent to sell the jersey to the sponsor for some 25 m euro and give, along with 1% of income, those 25m more to the children.

I'm not so sure, but i think that the companies which spend money for philanthropy are much less taxed than the others.

But i don't know if you can count Barcelona as a company by definition.
Maybe someone who is good in economics can tell us more

I'm not saying clubs shouldn't buy players. I'm saying that clubs shouldn't loan out all their young players to make room for foreigners. I don't think that you can say Barca are guilty of that, and Juve certainly have been.
Juve have 60% of the Italian NT for Christ sake. If there is one big team in Italy that prefers home players to foreigners, it's Juventus.

No club is crazy enough to pay 50 m for a player if they can get a youth player of same quality for the same money.
Barcelona obviously have the best youth school right now that produces top quality players. If Juve had such youth school they'd have done it too.

But it's a fact that Juve started investing, and the plan is to invest much more, in the youth school. Right now we have Giovinco, Marchisio, De Ceglie and Del Piero who played for Juve primavera and are included in the 25 men CL squad. 4 youth products. Apart from Barcelona, I doubt any other big club can say that they have 4 players in the team that played for their youth clubs. Immobile also played against Bordeaux, so now we have 5 such players who played for Juve in the CL this season.

In the CL squad for this year, Barcelona have 13 foreigners (non-Spanish)

while Juve have 12 foreigners (non-Italian)

When you brag about something or feel proud about it, check the facts first, instead of listening to the story they've been feeding the Barca fans with.

ian honestly it looks like your trying to say barcelona dont have any players that have been bought from overseas

just digging yourself deeper and deeper

not only that but barcelona is perhaps one of the biggest companies out there, if you left to go support i dont no perhaps bari or sampdoria i may have believed this whole load of crap you put forward, but to go support one of the biggest football brands out there not to mention barcelona's status as one of the best teams in the world right now does make you look like a golory hunter.

But Juve paid 30 milion euro for a Right back!!! Can you imagine that? We paid 30 m euro for a fucking right back mercenary that is Thuram.

Barca will never do that.
They'll never pay 30 m eur for a right back.

They only pay 35 m eur for Danny Alves.

BLOOM!

What hypocrisy.

Of course that's the most likely explanation. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a better profit from posing as a charity organisation than if they would have to pay regular taxes, even with a sponsor on their shirts.

Messi missed half the year when he got second to Ronaldo, a lot of people thought Messi might have won it that year had he been fit throughout the year.

Messi won it because he is miles ahead of the others in terms of individual performances, not because of anything else. You simply have to be blind or biased not to recognize that he was easily the worlds best last year.
You'd have to be blind or biased to miss the point of my post. Which apparently..

Barca's first Champions League win = 8 Spaniards in starting XI
Our first European Cup win = 8 Italians in starting XI
Barca's second Champions League win = 3 Spaniards in starting XI
Our second Euro/Champions League win = 9 Italians in starting XI
Barca's third Champions League win = 5 Spaniards in starting XI
Our 2003 runners up place = 6 Italians in starting XI

If anything these stats prove we start more players of Italian origin than Barca do of Spanish origin in major finals.

Sure:

I became a juventus fan following Edwin Van der Sar's transfer to the club. At the time, I did not consider myself a "fan" of any club, but Juve were a traditional, respectable, old school club that endeared itself to me.

After years of supporting the club, several things happened which I feel were betrayals to the fans. First (and probably most important), Juventus became a publicly traded company. I was a fan of Juventus FC, not Juventus Inc. I am not in favour of this kind of "football company" and the money-centred atmosphere leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Next, Juve systematically brought in overpaid foreign mercenaries at the expense of homegrown youth. I hate this and I think it's a betrayal of everyone involved with the club and the game. Next, Juve sold the stadium name, jersey, and club symbol to corporate interests. I simply can not stand for that kind of blatant profiteering. Finally, the straw that broke the camels back was to find out that Juve were in fact guilty of match-fixing and transfer rigging. I had defended the club innumerable times from these allegations and honestly believed them to be conspiracy theories only to find out that Juve were in fact just as corrupt as they were said to be.

so, I felt betrayed by the club, and that the club was not loyal or honest to me in lying about nearly everything and selling itself out in the most horrible ways.
This is the biggest load of shit on the forum since badass' infamous posts. And I don't say this because I am a Juve fan. I'm sure an Arsenal, Valenica, Inter, or Lyon fan would agree with me. You're a perfect example of a gloryhunter.

You know what's funny? I was in Barcelona in 2004 and you know what they have there, right next to Camp Nou? It's huge, two stories high (bigger than the Juvestore in Torino), it's called the Botiga (or something like that) and it's a Barca club shop. Do you know what they have there, among other things? Nike branded merchandise. When I was there they had a nice selection of items for Barcelona, Inter and Valencia (I still have my Valencia wallet with a Nike logo on it tho it's fading), all Nike clients.

So yeah, I somewhat fail to see the grand distinction here.

and Barca are one of the most advertised teams around the world. Right up there with the EPL teams. Also Barca go on tours every year to promote their image and sell merchandise around the world. How is that now whoring themselves out?

You know.. they don't have a shirt sponsor (zomg). But if you go to the Juve website and find the sponsors page, there's like 40 of them. Including Nike, the shirt salesmen. Now, I bet you if you go to the Barca sponsor page they have 39 of them. No shirt sponsor, but they do have all the others.

to wit:

I'm so moved I'm gonna faint now :touched:
