It's not that that makes me a proper fan.
What makes me a proper fan is the fact that I support my local team, go to as many games as I can and don't give up on them just because I don't give up on them because of minor details like the team being rubbish or not liking the way the club is run.
Fair point. But to me, the way the club is run is not a minor detail. In the long run, it's the only thing that counts.
Anyway, I see that you have Rangers among your favoured teams. That tells me all I need to know about you and you won't be hearing from me again.
Well, I get that from my father, so I guess that's glory hunting too. but, personally, I never thought that ignoring and excluding fans of other teams accomplished anything...
You went from supporting Juventus to supporting Barcelona and loving the whole Catalunya thing? Since 2006? Wow, you a huuuuuge Barca fan. Go boy.
Think before posting please. I've been involved in advocating for political rights for minorities since I was old enough to understand the concept. While attending secondary school in Australia I was heavily involved in lobbying the government to officially apologize for their past treatment of aboriginal peoples. I've been involved in numerous political movements including the movement for catalunyan independence. My support for Barcelona FC is only incidental to my support for catalunyan political independence. I also support Basque, Kosovan, and Quebecois independence.

Man, I don't get this whole gloryhunter talk. Nothing wrong with recognizing quality and
sticking with it. All Shakespeare fans are gloryhunters?
Now if you don't do the underlined part, then yes, you are a true gloryhunter *cough* Ian *cough*
From reading the posts of other members concerning their call to
true fanhood I believe I have stumbled on the essential misunderstanding that has led many to call me names and insult me.
I have no home country, I have no home town, and I never supported a football club until I was almost 30. From the time I was born until I turned 18, I lived and learned in 8 different countries on 3 different continents. I left Europe when I was 7 and did not return until I was nineteen. In Australia, where I attended secondary school, there was almost no coverage of European football. When I moved back to Europe, I was a professional footballer and did not follow the sport as a fan.
So, I guess I have a different perspective on things. To me, following football is an intensely personal thing. I do it almost exclusively for my own personal enjoyment. So, I guess I'm not a fan at all.
