Rijkaard: We Will Not Give Up On The Title

Frank Rijkaard has vowed that Barcelona have not given up on winning the league championship, but did admit that drawing at Athletic was a psychological blow.

The Dutch coach said that he felt the Blaugrana did everything right and were just missing a spot of luck that would have given them a second goal.

Bojan Krkic put the visitors to San Mamés in front but an own goal from Lilian Thuram saw Athletic earn a share of the spoils.

"Psychologically it was a blow for the team, but that does not mean that we are going to give up the title," Rijkaard said.

"We want to play well and to win, although that is not always possible.

"The team fought hard and, if we continue playing like that, then we can reduce the gap."

Rijkaard was convinced that with a some added fortune Barça would have won the game and did enough to earn all three points.

"We controlled the game for long periods and it was only bad luck that meant we did not increase out lead," he explained.

"It was a pity that we could not have scored more.

"I do not think that we lacked ambition nor were there any physical problems because even after they equalised we did well and went in search of a winner.

"All that was missing was a second goal for us

Frank Rijkaard claims that Barcelona will not give up on winning the league championship, but did admit that simply by being there he is screwing up their chances.

The Dutch fudgepacker said that he feels the Blaugrana the worlds bestestest footballing team and would have scored a second goal if someone smarter than a monkey was in charge.

Bojan Krkic put the visitors to San Mamés in front but footballing mercenary Lilian Thuram showed he is aging like wine turning to vinegar by putting through his own net.

"Psychologically it's a blow for the team,when they look to the bench for inpiration and see a half-wit, but that does not mean that they cannot win the title,in spite of me" Rijkaard said.

"We want to play well and to win, although my tactics are less legible than if a monkey had explained them.

"The team are full of players with hard bodies,except ronnie who has a soft squidgy body like a marsmallow."

Rijkaard is convinced that real madrid are only so far ahead because they are lucky.

"We controlled the game for long periods despite the fact i told them to always pass the ball to messi, even when he is injured on the bench, he is a special boy...eh player" he explained.

"It is a pity i cannot clone him."

"I think that having 11 messi on the pitch would make us invisible...invisesnible, hard to beat...and real would not be so lucky any more because they would not be able to get the ball anymore"

Watched Real Madrid vs Villareal and I must agree it was a very entertaining game. Schuster has made a real force out of Real Madrid after years of underperforming with spoiled stars who never really looked like a team unlike now. Real Madrid team looks very srong in midfield and attack department. Defense is still not at its best but that is due to some inuries, I believe. Real Madrd doesn´t have a legitimate candidate for the title this year.

I suggest M_Elayyan starts watching Real Madrid games more often as he will stop farting nonsense that Real Madrid is a team of ordinary players which only wins because of incredible luck. :howler: The fact is that Casillas makes some amazing saves but their performances are realy effective and they play pretty football.

what a loss to real madrid by Almeria who are played a wonderful game , the funny thing that the 2 goals were from cannavaro errors

even if the gap is now down to 6 points but i am still thinking that barca will not win the liga since i am confident with FR can do it with the remaining tough matches

i said it a lot , all barca fans feel that FR was not the man behind those wins , the real coach was his assistant ten cate who left to ajax last season and when he did FR alone is exposed and barca lost the liga last season and expected to loose it this year too.

But when they won the league and CL they were by far the best team in europe that season...Real or no Real they would have won the league that season no questions asked.
