Blog: 'Dinho dreams
It is transfer rumour time again and as the inevitable Ronaldinho to Milan story reappears, Steve Wilson wonders if this time it will really come off

i have a confession to make. I pushed the strongest for Ronaldinho being on the cover of Calcio Italia back in December 2006. The image of the Brazilian magician half in a Barcelona shirt and half in a Milan shirt split the office, with some suggesting we were going down the road of the tabloids by leading with a sensational rumour. As it turned out, the move never happened and we were left somewhat with egg on our faces.

Nevertheless, there appears there is a chance my faith in our Italian colleagues’ inside knowledge may finally be vindicated next month when the transfer window reopens. Silvio Berlusconi has again reiterated his desire to sign the buck-toothed samba star, while Carlo Ancelotti has also, unsurprisingly, said he wouldn’t be averse to adding him to his roster.

Some fans will laughably claim that Roni is past his best, but I say that he just needs a fresh challenge. A move now would also be perfect timing for the Rossoneri. Cup-tied for the Champions League, if he did arrive he would be restricted to playing in Serie A – which would allow Carletto to rest Kaka ahead of European matches and have a fresh threat in his bid to push his side back towards the top four.

There is also the fact that this is Barcelona’s last chance to cash in the reported £98m buy-out clause they have placed on his head. By next summer the World Cup winner will be over 28 and under FIFA rules able to buy out his contract – which would cost an interested club around £15m. And with his best days at the Nou Camp seemingly behind him, it is a phenomenal depreciation of value.

He may look jaded for the Blaugranes, but I feel given a new start at the San Siro and with a new set of opponents to dazzle and fans to delight he would begin to entertain in the way he did at the height of his fame. Plus with the established Brazilian contingent based at the Giuseppe Meazza, he would feel right at home. So I am really hoping that we see the world champions break the world transfer record – if only so I can finally hold up the December 2006 issue and say 'I told you so’.

Read: Barca is a shitass team and a one-man-army team. They suck.
This is not the problem.
Barca has a great complete team, maybe the best in europe, the problem is in the coach.
Even if Mancini took over this team,he would bring great results.
Rikjaard is a good man but when it comes to coaching,he is simply clueless & he doesnt add anything to the team & if it wasnt for the amazing form of Ronaldinho,Etoo & Messi in recent years,Rikjaard would've been sacked long ago.

Barca have great players, lots of them, they don't however have a great team. As a unit, as a whole, they were always left wanting. Always dependant on one or two players to carry them in every match. Be it Ronaldinho two years ago or Messi now, whenever one of them was missing they would struggle more. The coach is to blame for that surely but no one forced them to hire FR. They have a big squad with lots of depth but they're not using it properly and are still dependant on certain key players.

They should make a controversial move for Del Bosque...he knows how to handle stars..He wins trophies..and he'll want to prove a point to Reals Board..

Thats what I wanted to say,in terms of players, they have the best squad in europe but their coach is clueless.
U never feel that there is some tactics going on,he feelds the best eleven that he has & wait for moments of magic by his starts wether it is Messi, ronaldino, etoo or iniesta.

I am pretty sure this is Rikjaard's last season with Barca.

Ronaldinho Humiliated At Barcelona Airport

Barcelona ace Ronaldinho had heavy abuse showered on him at El Prat airport in Barcelona, from where he took the flight to Brazil.

Suggestions that Ronaldinho may have played his last El Clasico seemed to gain grounding on Sunday night, when he was subject to some stinging verbal volleys by the Barcelona fans.

The Camp Nou faithful were treated to a poor display from their team, and the Brazilian came in for some special treatment after the game. However, it was to get worse later that night.

The Gaucho arrived at the airport in the wee hours of Monday morning with Robinho, Julio Baptista and Deco - they were all traveling to Brazil together for their new year vacations.

Robinho was hailed by sections of Madrid fans, while Ronaldinho had every known abuse in the land hurled at him.

Deco also came in for some rough treatment, but survived as the bulk of the attention was focussed on The Gaucho.

As one can see from the video below, he was clearly not a happy man as he left for his vacations.

There have also been suggestions that he could have played his last game in a Barcelona shirt. The bosses have refused to make any comment, but if the media (even the pro-Barcelona dailies) and fans were to have their say, he would not be returning to the city again.

It was fantastic game yesterday from the first to the last minute for both teams. I think that Barca played very well but Real's defence was unbeaten yesterday. I wanted Barca to win but at the end i was very satisfied with the spectacle i saw.

My bet is that he'll go to Milan..then next year he will knock Barca out with a spectacular 30 yard bicycle kick in the dying minutes:cheesy:

Barcelona played their worst game of the season cause messi is not playing since he is the creater for goals and the top scorer for barca so with him not playing , noone can create goals for etoo and with shit form for ronaldinho the result is logical.
From what I saw Ronaldinho looked like anything but shit form. Maybe It's not good to sometimes performe magic stuff, because once you do, people will still expect more from you....this reminds me of Del Piero, Ronaldo, Figo etc.... the moment they change their style of play they're in a shit form:rolleyes:.

If Barcelona fans really think Ronaldinho is finished just because his style and he's playing more in a mature way then I pity them. Not everything is about dribbling in football.
