I was going to say something but I see that you've already sorted things out.
@Mikhail: I understand and agree with you on that this article is flawed. Nevertheless I don't think my personal observation should be disregarded simply because it's a 'personal' observation. All statistical jambo aside, I've gone through 3 different school systems in three different countries on 3 different continents and I think I have a fair idea of how things are. Though I'm in no way making a generalization...just like Vlat said, he grew up in Croatia and he turned out alright
