No, you are mistaken. Great teams can play like shit and still win thanks to moments of brilliance and sheer determination. Just look at some previous games from previous years of juve, inter, manu, chelsea..etc.

You yourself believe in this too, you old peasant.
Of course that's true for great teams. They play one bad match in five matches but they manage to win it.

I was talking about Juventus. We are not a great team that plays only 1 bad match out of 5. We play 7 bad out of 10 and we win only 2-3 of them. I think at this stage of the season performance counts even more than the result because good result from a bad performance was deceiving in the last two seasons since it was followed by two defeats in the next two bad performances. I want to first see huge improvement in our play and only then the result will be the icing on the cake. I have enough experience with Juve not to be too happy about today's win.

Common it was a much worse Juventus than against Parma, but we were still the better team and the stats prove it. A victory was deserved even if it was much closer than in our previous game. And frankly playing Siena away a team that knows Conte well is different than playing Parma at the opening of our new stadium. Our home will be a fortress this year, and the away matches will be much more difficult.

I don't understand how people can be comparing us to the teams of Lippi and Capello, which were ridiculously solid and difficult to break down. They had the ability to score a goal and close down the rest of the match, barely giving the other team a sniff of a chance. In those days I could watch us score our first goal and turn off the TV knowing that we'd win 1-0.

There's a big difference between that and what our current team is doing. We don't impose ourselves on the match, we let garbage teams play on their own terms and we don't have that feeling of security at all.

Sure, we're all happy with the three points, but it's foolish to simply say "a win is a win" and think that we'll keep getting away with such poor performances.

 People have forgotten those times.

I'm not saying that I want us to play that way again, but it's ridiculous that people are defending this poor performance by saying "we used to win 1-0 all the time under Lippi and Capello".

I don't think anyone meant "We used to win 1-0 all the time under Lippi & Capello" as much as meaning wins on bad days.

Back then, as you said we could lock down the game, our opponents couldn't do shit. But if we saw anything last season it wasn't us winning on bad days.

We also used to get raped in Europe :depressed

Poor Selection by Conte made it a poor performance, Elia,Vidal and Krasic? No way we'd be talking about 1-0

Yup, we'll return to the top of European Football by playing defensive 1-0 football.
I don't condone that sort of football but todays performance was much weaker than the football we played under Capello. The only real similarity was the scoreline and how boring the game was.

As I said before, in the past two seasons, a late equalizer by Siena would've been invetible. I like how the team kept possession and no one got a yellow card.

Unlike what some people want u to think, Pepe and Giac were important from a defensive point of view in this game. Not that I want them to start most of the games, though.

A clean sheet always feel amazing. I love watching Buffon's big smile at the end of the game.

I think that we did have quite a good number of such wins in the last two seasons. We'd have had even more if we didn't concede so many last second goals. So yeah, the positive thing is that we didn't let Siena (or they didn't even try) to become dangerous in the last 3-4 minutes.

That's the problem.

Last season, we could have won ugly but Cesena and Chievo were buttfucking us :sergio:
