Great Match! Everything was crystal clear and the tactics worked in an immense fashion. The defense lofted long balls up to the strikers as planned, the midfield gave the ball away, and the strikers were left stranded by the glorious lack of service Juventus is accustomed to. There was no need for substitutions because Pavel Nedved runs 36 times a day on Christmas, so he was doing fine out there losing the ball like the rest of the midfield. Poulsen and Sissoko had a stranglehold over the statistics, especially the integer not shown on the completed passes part; no idea why they don't show such a statistic because it really compliments our squad. The less passes we complete, the more we will fool the opposition into being a good team, thus making them more scared of us.
Ranieri did well in keeping Giovinco on the bench because it would have been too much of a risk to create chances for our strikers, as they are more familiar with horrible service. If they would see the ball more, they would be a detriment to our defense because we need 9 players behind the ball at all times to achieve the goal of drawing against mid-table teams. The lack of fluidity in our passing game is an asset to the club because it reaffirms our quest in receiving a point against comparable sides to Juventus, like Sampforia. If we can't complete passes, the whole team will be more secure because they'll fall back and defend much more quickly. The best way to secure the point is to let Molinaro kick the ball out of bounds instead of putting it on the head of Amauri, as that way we won't be susceptible to any counter attack.
I think everything worked according to plan and Ranieri should be praised. Horrible passing, inept team chemistry, lack of substitutions, et cetera are key to stealing points from clubs like Sampdoria. If we play the same way all season, we will be in good shape for winning Serie B.
Manninger - Did horribly in not booting the ball further up the pitch. 10
Grygera - Should have played the ball out of bounds more.10
Mellberg - Fantastic. Played enough useless long balls up to the forwards. 10
Chiellini - Amazing. 10
Molinaro - Did a fantastic job of securing the draw by kicking the ball out of play instead of crossing it. 10
Camoranesi - Loved the way he was completely useless. 10
Sissoko - Did a great job not keeping possession and losing the ball. That way we can secure the draw. 10
Poulsen - WOW! What more could I ask of him? AMAZING display of horrible passing. Giving the ball away like he did should be the standard of all Juventus players. The only person who could do a better job than Poulsen is Blasi, but unfortunately we gave him away. Poulsen still does a great job ruining attacking forays though. 10
Nedved - The epitome of sound wing play. He only gave the ball away in the opposition's half, and also ran hard back in position. This man should start until he's 45. 10
Amauri - Did well to not receive the ball. 10
Del Piero - Fantastic display of not doing anything. 10
Iaquinta - Completely useless and I love it! 10
Giovinco - Glad to see us not risk the draw by keeping him on the bench. 10
Ranieri - AMAZING MANAGER. Did great to secure the points as someone who manages a mid-table side. 10
