Reggina-Juve Ref To Be Suspended For Two Months

Paolo Dondarini, the referee at the centre of the controversy at Reggina on Saturday night, is set to be suspended from duty for two months, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Dondarini has been widely condemned throughout the peninsula for a shocking display at the Stadio Granillo.

The official denied Juventus two clear penalties, awarded Reggina a debatable spot-kick, while his overall management of the game was also perceived as clearly siding with the home side.

The Gazzetta says that as punishment Dondarini will be suspended for two months, and when he returns from his ban, he will be demoted to officiate matches in Serie B.

There was a similar sentence handed out to Mauro Bergonzi after the hugely controversial Napoli – Juventus clash last October. In that game Bergonzi awarded the Partenopei two scandalous penalties as they inflicted a 3-1 defeat on the Bianconeri.

The situation with referees in Serie A is fast descending into something of a crisis, and there are increasing calls that the federation should turn to foreign officials to help out at this delicate moment.

Useless ,
even if they send him to Seri C , we can't take our Points back , and as long as the Conspiracy still existed , this shit gonna happens again at least for 1 more time in the rest of this painful season .

The refs seriously screwed this game, and it should be replayed. If the management won't fight for that, they aren't qualified to run a Kwik-E-Mart.

However, in the game itself, Juve didn't exactly look world class... and that should be said. Molinaro was pathetic again, Grygera wasn't that much better... and with those two screwing around, it reflected on Legro and Chiellini's play.

The midfield wasn't exactly dazzling, but if Camo has to come out, why not chance Tiago, we all know Salihamidzic can run, but do little else.

Palladino was pathetic. He should be counting his blessings that he gets to be a winger, let alone a starting striker.

no doubt, the refs have been giving it to us up the ass....but we havent played well enough to take the game out of their hands

Grygera and Molinaro should be following Dondarini right to Serie B, and Palladino did NOTHING to help his plight of getting a starting shirt

We played like shit the entire game, and DP, who was having a terrible day himself, managed to put in the weakest of goals

I cannot understand how the juve players were able to calm themselves and not rip that referee apart. If he had been anywhere near me i would have killed his ass.

yes we didnt play well, but that does not take away the fact that we shouldve had those decisions our way. we hsould be playing well enough to win comfortably but were not, but at this time in the season when these points matter we can not ahve refs screwing us over like this.

He will buy Lampard and hope he is creative enough...But he doesn't like Diego or VdV...We are playing like shit all season, kicking the high balls up front, no combination, no creativety...just glance moves of our old guard (DP, Nedved, Camo, Zanetti & Treze) and that is not enough for hole season...and the rest are just below par...:frown:

a player like Lampard would have won us the game yesterday. No joke. It's game like these where the opponent parks 9 players in th penalty box that a player like Lampard is useful in.

because you know that no matter if you park your 11 players there + the entire population of China, Lamaprd would still shoot and it would still deflect off someone and go in goal.

 well said; couldn't agree more. If it's worth to pay millions/season to win against reggina is another question :)
