This will be a hard nut to crack. I have my doubts concerning Zlatan, but then again Del Piero wasn't exactly shining the last few games either. Mutu on the other hand has been doing quite well and deserves a starting spot IMO. Because Capello will always choose Zlatan ahead of Del Piero, I think it's likely we'll get to see Mutu-Trezeguet-Zlatan, with Del Piero taking over Mutu's or Zlatan's place in the second half.

Why not? Mutu is more of an attacking midfielder these days anyway. And TBH we haven't got anything to lose. We should go for the win. It's no good to be too cautious.

Perhaps you're right. It would be a wrong decision though. I'm a firm believer of the fact that this Juventus side has to strangle every opponent on its way. Just go for the kill, rather than waiting for an error and trying to win 0-1. It might be a gamble to play like that against Milan, but surely it's a risk worth taking and I think we're strong enough to do so.

Well just have to wait and see…

I´ll try again: Welcome btw.

Italian champions Juventus, fresh from setting a new record for the best start to a Serie A season, face title rivals AC Milan at the San Siro on Saturday in the biggest game of the campaign so far. Inter visit Sampdoria, while Fiorentina go to Cagliari and Udinese travel to fifth-placed Palermo.

Juve break record

An 80,000 capacity crowd is expected for the game between the top two sides in Serie A with Juventus hoping to extend their run of nine straight wins this season.

Milan are five points behind their rivals and while Carlo Ancelotti's side have yet to truly sparkle they have a 100 percent home record and will be keen to avenge last season's defeat to Juve.

The 1-0 win by Fabio Capello's side at the San Siro in May effectively secured the club's record 28th 'scudetto' and while this encounter comes early in the campaign the scorer in last season's match, French forward David Trezeguet says there is already much at stake.

"We are going to the San Siro in an ideal position - five points are a fair gap at this stage and eight would be even better," he said.

"They are the ones who have to take the game to us if they want to win and if they want to catch us up.

"But it will be the same Juventus and we certainly don't lack any motivation for this match. We want to give a show of force even if there is still a long way to go," he said.

Trezeguet's compatriot, midfielder Patrick Vieira, has recovered from a groin injury and is likely to start alongside Brazilian Emerson in the centre of midfield for Juve.

Goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, on loan from Milan as cover for the injured Gianluigi Buffon, is struggling with flu and a knee injury so third-choice keeper Antonio Chimenti is on stand-by.

GOOD FORM

Capello faces a tough choice in attack where Alessandro Del Piero's recent good form is putting pressure on Trezeguet and Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while Romanian Adrian Mutu has also impressed recently in a wide role.

Milan's attacking options are reduced by a foot injury to European Footballer of the Year Andriy Shevchenko, who is doubtful for the game, but Ancelotti has been given a boost in the past two matches by the scoring form of his other strikers.

Former Juve forward Filippo Inzaghi, back from long-term injuries scored his first goal in 19 months in Sunday's win over Palermo while at Empoli on Wednesday Christian Vieri was on target for the first time since joining the club from Inter during the close season.

Alberto Gilardino, a 24 million euro ($29.10 million) signing from Parma, scored twice in the 3-1 victory at Empoli but has yet to do so in front of his own fans.

"I hope to break my duck at the San Siro. It's not something that is weighing on me but after scoring five goals away from home it would be nice to get on the scoresheet. But the important thing is winning not who scores the goals," he said.

That's the point. In those games we were an attacking side. I don't see the need to change that.

Inzaghi set for Sheva shirt Friday 28 October, 2005

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan’s Andriy Shevchenko looks to have lost his battle for fitness to face League leaders Juventus in Saturday night’s top-of-the-table clash at the San Siro.

The Ukraine international has missed the Rossoneri’s last two matches with a heel injury and although doctors are pleased with his progress, they are not prepared to risk their star striker unless he is 100 percent fit - even for a game of such great importance.

"If he can no longer feel pain then he will play," said Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti. "But otherwise he won’t - and at the moment it’s looking more likely that he won’t play."

Ancelotti must now choose two out of three in-form strikers for a game his side cannot afford to lose.

Milan are trailing Juventus, who have won all nine Serie A games so far this season, by five points and a home win would throw the title race wide open again.

Both Alberto Gilardino and Christian Vieri scored in midweek and Filippo Inzaghi did his selection chances no harm either by netting the winner against Palermo last weekend in his first game back after a lengthy injury lay-off.

With five goals to his name so far already this season, Gilardino is a virtual certainty to start.

"Scoring twice at Empoli was important for me," said Gilardino. "Now it’s up to the Coach to decide.

"As far as I’m concerned, after five away goals, I’d like to score in front of my own fans at the San Siro."

So would Inzaghi. The former Juventus hitman has endured a miserable time with injuries over the last year, and his emotional goal celebration against Palermo was a testament to the frustrations of a season spent on the sidelines.

Superpippo would relish the opportunity to confirm his return to the big time with a goal against his former club and it is thought that he will be given the nod ahead of Vieri.

The Rossoneri will be boosted by the return to the defence of Paolo Maldini, Jaap Stam and Alessandro Nesta.

The Italy stopper has recovered quicker than expected from a bizarre hand injury that had been reported, although denied by the player himself, as being caused by excessive use of his PlayStation.

The most eagerly awaited match is coming, the very match that last year assigned the title, the one where the two undisputed queens of Italian football will be face to face: at San Siro, on Saturday night, record-breaker Juventus meet Milan. If, on one side, the Bianconeri have just made the new record of consecutive wins at the start of the season, on the other side, Ancelotti have achieved a series of six wins, which allowed them to keep up with Juventus pace, even though five points clear of them.

In fact, Milan had most of the troubles at the start of the season: on the first matchday, when they played on a pitch nearly unplayable and they couldn't go any further than a 1-1 against Ascoli and on the third matchday when they were beated by Sampdoria at Marassi. From that time on their march never stopped and although both clubs have scored eighteen goals the difference between the two club lies not only in the five-point gap but also in the goals conceded, seven out of nine matches as for Milan, compared to the two conceded by the Bianconeri.

The challenge has always had a unique appeal but this time it cannot be reckoned as crucial for the title race and the very protagonists have often underlined how the championship is too long to be decided by only one match. If not decisive, the match remains very important: winning at San Siro too would mean for Juventus to stretch their lead over the Rossoneri up to eight points and nine that over Inter; this would shake the morale of their two most dangerous opponents and turn their record-breaking race into a real breakaway.

It’s been an informal and relaxed meeting the one that took place between Juventus Director General Luciano Moggi, the Bianconeri boss Fabio Capello and France coach Raymond Domenech, who was in Turin to meet Juventus’s French players. The meeting clarified the positions of the Bianconeri club and that of the French Federation concerning the call-up of the players, in the perspective of a mutual cooperation.

Neddy for Giannicheda? Hmmm ... Neddy was very active the previous game but I think he cannot do the 'dirty' work especially if Emerson is given an advanced role like the Samp game. This will leave us exposed to Kaka's marauding runs.
Well, because we have neddy in midfield, Emerson's role would be to stick back as defensive midfielder while neddy as the center playmaker. Neddy has the attributes to do well IMO. But the only worry is that everytime neddy is in the middle of the field with the ball, HardTackles follow in an instant.
I would really like to see how that midfield line up will do, needy as Attacking midfielder center.

Yeah, Del Piero's game not "physical", he can't get aerian balls...etc. That's what folks were saying before last year's game...REMEMBER?
Exactly. You don't omit somebody like Mutu or Del Piero because they aren't tall, strong and their games don't suit long aerial balls, you simply play the ball into their feet and let them do their thing. We need to play to our strengths. If Trezeguet and Ibrahimovic start the match up top then it would be a good idea to get lots of crosses into the box and the long ball would be an option as well, but don't ignore Mutu or Del Piero because they aren't effective in this type of set-up, just change the set-up. Obviously DP isn't going to win a header against Stam, but get it into his feet quickly and he might be able to do something. I'm not saying that DP should definitely start, but if he does, don't play long balls and say that he shouldn't be on the pitch because he can't deal with them, play the ball along the ground.

Word.

One remark. I do not want the long balls or/and the “high ball play” even if Trez and Ibra would start.
