So Melo gets (possible) MOM and he is out of the team next game? Surely Melo - Aquilani makes more sense?

Cagliari don't have the attack than Palermo do. But really, the way things are right now this match will be defined by the first goal. If we score first, I think we'll be fine.
Well after the Udinese game Marchisio-Melo made sense to you and you defending them so inherently and they didn't do anything for us yesaterday, now where is that support? Suddenly you're "OK" with Aquilani playing and replacing one of the two?

As far a the attack for Cagliari. That may be true but they have only conceded once this year I think or the last 3 games...how many have we conceded? If we play with the lineup yesterday we will be just as limp against Cagliari and they will be even harder to break down.

My lineup:

Manniger
Motta-Bonucci-Chiellini-Grygera
Krasic-Aquilani-Melo-Pepe
Iaquinta-Del Piero

It isn't smart to keep changing the defense, they really need to work together to get through this and constantly changing the back line AND the goalie is dumb. Hopefully our wingers will be up to the job like they were a week ago, but this time they won't be doing all the creative work alone, they will have Aquilani to set them and IQ free with some precision passing (hopefully)...and Melo behind to shore up any mishaps. Let Marchisio rest for EL.

Del Piero still has it in his legs, let him continue to lead the team back on Sunday. We need our leader on the field more than ever and with his creativity Iaquinta who put two balls more in the net than Amauri can work off him and Aquilani. (Even though only 1 of IQ's goals counted, he is showing so much more composure and productive work either than Amauri).

Hindsight is a bitch.
I'm not pointing out that anyone is wrong here, I'm not saying we would have won with Aquilani but I do think that we will be so much more lethal in attack and our build up play if we have him in. Marchisio-Melo together just don't give us anything up front other than reassurances somewhere in between.

So before Palermo we listen to Zamparini talk about how Inter is the new Juve, and get nothing.

Before Cagliari we now listen to Cellino talk about how big clubs are only complaining about referees as they don't get decisions anymore...

Yes, and I said that to you before the Palermo game. When the team is winning and players are playing well then that team should absolutely not be changed. Now it's different, we lost and certain players didn't reach their normal level, so then we look at what we can do differently. It's pretty simple, I have no alliegences to players, just common sense.

I heard Pepe will be playing LB, and Martinez as a LW? I don't know if that's 100% true however.
