i guess we could leave out the capello discussion for while as this is matchday...and i think we have had enough of this discussion. we need to be behind the team in these tough times. We could see that many fans r doing their part and they r filling up the Delli Alpi, i just hope the team would do the their part.

Positive: The Delle Alpi is sold-out. This will surely help.

Negative: The wiretapping-scandal is all over Torino, no way that this doesn't affect the players. Must have been tough to keep them concentrated and focused on today's game.

I predict an entertaining encounter, with the better ending for our bianconeri. 2:1 or something...

Juve fans prepare Scudetto party Saturday 6 May, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amid controversy and a title race that’s not yet over, Juventus fans are flocking to the sold-out Stadio Delle Alpi for Sunday’s game with Palermo.

The Turin arena is famously unpopular with supporters and rarely manages attendances of more than 35,000, but less than 900 tickets remain available for the last home match of the season.

A combination of factors has led to this situation, as Juve have offered some tickets at just five Euros, while fans are eager to be part of the Scudetto celebrations should Milan slip up in their encounter at Parma.

The Bianconeri faithful are also trying to show their confidence in the club after a week in which the Luciano Moggi phone-tap scandal and subsequent FIGC investigation has seen increasingly strong allegations hit the headlines.

An anonymous representative of the Agnelli family, who own Juventus, was quoted on the ApBiscom news agency this evening on the situation and the future of the Triade of directors: Antonio Giraudo, Roberto Bettega and Moggi.

“Our silence is not a sign of disinterest, but above all because we wish to leave the team in peace ahead of one of the most important games of the season,” said the source.

“After the end of the campaign, that could see a deserved Scudetto go to Juve, we will act. We want to understand and evaluate what has happened. The directorial structure of the club will be decided in September in the shareholders’ meeting.”

As for the team, they continue to hold their Press silence, but reporters at the training ground suggest that Fabio Cannavaro and Mauro German Camoranesi have recovered from their injuries, but Federico Balzaretti is a major doubt to face Palermo.

Jonathan Zebina is expected to start in defence, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic partnering David Trezeguet, pushing Alessandro Del Piero on to the bench.

No fvcking way that's true. I'm sorry, but there are just about a billion reasons why Del Piero should start. Even if Capello's only thinking about himself and his reputation he should put Del Piero on the starting sheet.

Is it me or does it feel as if Zebina plays real bad because he is leaving at the end of the season or is it just because he sucks?

Serie A Preview: Juventus-Livorno

Juventus entertain Palermo on Sunday as Palermo coach Giuseppe Papadopulo plots the Bianconeri’s downfall. After Capello’s men ended their seven game run without a win, the Old Lady will go into this tie with renewed confidence.

BACKGROUND

Last weekend’s impressive 3-0 win over Siena ended a seven game winless streak for Juventus put Fabio Capello’s men back on tract in their bid to retain the Scudetto. The Old Lady lead Milan by three points and have a more hospitable final fixture - they face Reggina next weekend while the Rossoneri must take on Roma.

Juve seem destined for the title despite making hard work of it in the last few months. However Palermo have proved that they can be a particularly dangerous opponent and Capello’s men will need to keep their concentration if they are to take all three points here.

Giuseppe Papadopulo has done well since replacing Gigi Del Neri, an appointment that has helped Palermo surge away from a dangerous position hovering above the relegation. While the ex-Lazio boss knows that their run of form has come too late for UEFA Cup qualification as Chievo hold the upper hand, a good end of season would go down nicely with the president.

Club President Maurizio Zamparini was considering a summer move for Walter Novellino. A good end to the season would go some way to ensuring the former Lazio man is still coaching in Sicily next term.

TEAM NEWS

Juventus
Balzaretti comes in at full back. Kovac replaces Thuram and is partnered by Cannavaro. Trezeguet is once again partnered by Del Piero. Emerson has returned from injury and will start the match.

Palermo
Palermo are without Massimo Mutarelli, Cristiano Lupatelli, Eugenio Corini and Christian Terlizzi through injury. Defender Leandro Rinaudo is suspended.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Juventus
Del Piero is again the man under the spotlight. The Juventus symbol has had a good campaign despite starting so many games on the bench. With the likes of Ibrahimovic not showing the form they are capable of, Del Piero has been given a run of games recently and he can be the difference in the tightest of ties.

Palermo
Barzagli has been heavily linked with a move to one of Serie A’s bigger clubs with Juve amongst the favourites to secure his services. The defender’s versatility and tenacity make him an attractive prospect for many clubs in Italy and he could do his chances of securing a move with a good performances against his suitors.

PROBABLE STARTING XIs

Juventus (4-4-2):
Buffon - Balzaretti, Kovac, F.Cannavaro, Zambrotta - Camoranesi, Vieira, Emerson, Nedved – Del Piero, Trezeguet.

Palermo (4-2-3-1):
Agilardi; Zaccardo, Biava, Barzagli, Grosso; Tedesco, Barone; Santana, Brienza, Di Michele; Caracciolo

PREDICTION

Given their return to form the bianconeri should ease past Palermo.

Juventus 2-0 Palermo
