The way milan were playing the likes of inter would have out 5 goals passed them.

Anyway it was a win and we did well in that second half.

Still have a long way to go.

Huge step forwards in the details. Pressing game improved against Atalanta and was really good tonight. The shape was more dynamic, more positional changes, which was a step forward after Atalanta. I also thought we managed the tempo a lot better, didn't sit too long on the ball. Loca also switched sides really well.

We could improve in making our way into the final third. We were strong in the build up and managed well to sit outside the final third but we still have some issues resolving teams sitting deep. It looked better in the second half but there are things to improve here.

Really fun game to watch, glad to see progress. Milan on the other hand, what are they doing? Looked really poor.

My main takeaway is our players need to have the balls to risk the forward pass and first time pass. Too many times we were hesitant and too slow. I also don't like how our players often move towards the ball carrier for the easy pass. Makes us far too stagnant

I think you are right, I agree. It looked better in the second half though. Cambiaso stayed wide until late first half and once he tucked inside things started to happen. More triangles and combinations. Gonzalez combined fairly well too.

I would add that we either tend to look at the ball too much in defense and forget about dangerous zones and movements. Gatti has improved but is still a liability in this regard. Or we focus way too much on tracing your man. It was particularly evident after our second goal when Milan could walk straight into acres of open spaces in the middle and no one stepped in.

Still a lot of experiments, still vulnerable at the back, still deploying five at the back without the ball with multiple players being played out of position, still unclear what hybrid formation we are actually playing when we do have the ball, we were also lucky to not concede against this Milan side that is as clueless and unbalanced as we are…

But still can’t help but salute the overall performance tonight because we really gave it all and looked like a real team where almost everyone did their part and contributed bit by bit, we fully deserved all the points, ultimately if not for being so wasteful in the final third we could have easily scored a couple more ourselves.

A victory against a direct rival is always nice, even more so in the current context where we are in direct competition for that last UCL spot, hopefully this will be somewhat of a turning point although i expect a very tough road ahead nonetheless.
