Pretty defensive team that Lazio are expected to play:

Marchetti

Konko-Biava-Dias-Radu

Ledesma

Candreva-Brocchi-Hernanes-Gonzalez

Klose

Radu in for Lulic and Brocchi in for Mauri, compared to their regular side.

Juve are going to have to play very well to open up space in this game, particularly without Pirlo.

This Lazio team does an awful lot of things well, particularly their midfield. They understand how to position themselves and how to hold possession, which means that it is very difficult to build up a sustained period of pressure against them

Their main weakness defensively is that they are consistently vulnerable on set-pieces, which is something Juve should be able to exploit. Lazio's CBs are also slow and struggle when defending in an open game, but, as I said, Lazio's midfield is very good at preventing a game becoming open.

I'm predicting 1-0 to Juve, probably with a goal from a set-piece.

I much prefer teams that sit back against us. I think we have become vulnerable to teams that press or teams that have pace but no one knows this yet. I think when teams want to take it to us our first inclination is to play a countering style but IMO we don't have the players for that system. I don't think we're terrible at it but it's definitely not our strength (no clinical finisher, no real pace up top -Gio is quick but not fast-).

I think that is why Inter beat us and I think that's why Shakhtar is an extremely bad matchup for us.

The Fiorentina game was also an example of this. Every time a team is content to sit back I feel really good, almost lucky lol.

Especially now with so many games and all our players playing for Italy. When teams sit back and play at Pirlo's pace I breathe a sigh of relief because I know they have no chance.

I agree. Almost every shot our opponents take tends to go in. When some post match reviews about games we dominate say Buffon might as well not have played have no idea how right they are.
