I had to put this one on after i read this:
Rizzo eyes Inter scalp
Saturday 28 January, 2006
Lecce’s third Coach of the season has asked the fans to create an imposing atmosphere when Inter come to town.
“I want to see the stands covered in red and yellow banners again,” said the man who up until this week was in charge of their youth squad.
Rizzo was appointed to the job after Silvio Baldini was sacked, making him their third tactician of the campaign as Angelo Gregucci lasted just five weeks.
The fans have been openly critical of the club ownership ever since they parted company with the much-loved Zdenek Zeman in the summer, but there are hopes Rizzo can reunite them.
“For someone who is taking on a new and difficult adventure, it would be a great signal to know the fans are on our side. The squad needs to find its confidence again, something that has been lost along the way.”
The Nerazzurri haven’t won at the Stadio Via del Mare since a 2-1 victory in March 2002, losing the year after and held 2-2 last season.
“We can take a prestigious scalp in this match,” insisted Rizzo. “It would be better to start with a smaller team, but you have to face all of them sooner or later. We must go into every game looking to get points.”
He has already announced he will change his tactics to a four-man defence with Mirko Vucinic as the lone striker in front of a packed midfield.
