Maybe Allegri wants to try and keep the back 4 more settled with Evra than going for Alex Sandro who will not be as familiar.

Given that we need some solidity and this is a hugely important and difficult game, I have no problem going with Evra (who has been excellent for us).

Back against the wall (league results) = go with the safe proven option

3 points. All that matters. Cuadrado good again, Pereyra as well but still needs to work on his end product.

Hopefully Morata is ok, same with Mario.

Lemina was impressive for his first game. Love the steel he adds.

This is one important win. Just keep winning for a while now. Lemina was impressive but has to be more urgent. Those tackles & nudges from behind were scary.

Lemina was really good, guy needs some time to adjust to Seria A referees, but so far defensive wise he is really impressive.
Cuardado - motm, our defense is rock-solid. Everything else requires time and work.

Good result, but obviously it was a lot easier after the red, because Genoa couldn't press us as hard as they were.

I imagine we'll see Alex Sandro, Dybala and maybe Zaza against Frosinone.

Kind of underwhelming, but shut Genoa down well and we are back to winning ways. I want to see more of Pereyra out wide next game and one of Lemina and Sturaro at most

Ok overall performance and much much needed win.

Cuadrado good active incisive performance, Pereyra welcomed spark to add dribbling and mobility to open up Genoa when things were too static with Morata and the others (they were relying on Chiellini long balls lol), but still lacks end product a bit. Lemina extremely hard tackler but clean for most of it, played on edges at times, but he seriously did ALOT of precise and hard tackles that saved our bacons and started few counters. Added steel and dirty toughness we badly needed. But needs to be involved alot more in possesion and move around more, but he was holding Mid, I except him to play better/be more intimidating mobile presence as RCM then this static role.

Mandzukic and Sturaro absolutely useless performance. Seriously have no bussiness starting when they perform like this. Former is way too slow and got closed down easily when he was open on goal (completely no threat whatsoever if he isnt getting accurate crosses, and he was barely getting bad crosses today...), and latter ran alot, but he added nothing defensively, barely got the ball, and I cant recall him joining the attack once.

Good game and very important three points. At this time we should not look at the table but look to keep on winning no matter how. We took the lead in an ugly way but the ball that Pereyra sent was too damn sexy so let's not complain. We got pressed at some points but that was expected playing Genoa at their home ground and considering our terrible start of the season. I thought Dybala should have come in when we went two up, he could have burried those opportunities that Mandzukic wasted. As for our injuries, this is getting silly now.

    Buffon 6.5

    Lichtsteiner 6.5
    Barzagli 6,5
    Chiellini 7
    Evra 7

    Lemina 6.5
    Pogba 7
    Sturaro 6.5
    Cuadrado 7

    Mandzukic 6
    Morata N.R

    Pereyra 7.5
    Hernanes 6.5
    Zaza 6

I'm not that mad Dybala didn't start, Mandzukic had to be given another try out but if he starts again next week I'll be pissed. I don't get why Pereyra doesn't start though. He's clearly our most creative player down the middle and causes a lot of trouble to the opponents defense. Is it that his defensive workrate is not as good?

That will be ugly, Zaza only got little time, but man was his first touches VERY bad. Reminded me of Matri's. He got yellow basically because he ballooned his first touch to start a counter for them and had to chase down and tackle from behind to save himself.
