So how long will it be before we see the likes of rabiot and ramsey? Fucking hell all this bullshit about how they hardly played in 2019 is a pathetic excuse when you're starting sick note khedira above them
We will still be rolling out Matuidi in the starting line up when hes 80 years old and in a wheel chair.

Didn't get to see the game and only watched a 4 min highlight reel off YouTube. Saw that we had a chance or two compared to fiorentina having many more.

New coach with lots of changes was always going to bring challenges early on. However I'm not liking what i have seen so far this season.

New coach with lots of changes at inter too. Why is the clock working without challenges there?

Meh, it is and it isn't. They have three wins but only one actual good performance, against a bum team. But as we well know, points cover all.

I don't really get the drama, but it seems to be part and parcel of the forum. We've clearly got a bunch of players not in the best physical shape, which is normal in round 3 and post-international break. I swear I say the same thing every year at this point of the season, but I'm not the only one who seems to do that...

I think it's safe to say that Sarri's system takes more getting used to than Conte's, the proof is there looking at their pasts. Pedal to the floor and see what happens, we won't be able to tell until round 15 if it's working.

Why does this apply only for Juve?

Just as vanilla as a midfield gets I reckon. Matuidi and Khedira. What do you expect? Desperate for Ramsey. We need two Ramsey's frankly.
Ramsey hasn’t played for two years just like Rabiot, so that coupled with the time it takes for Sarriball, we won’t see them until the Copa semis. If he’s healthy.

The most annoying thing about this draw is "It was too hot" - I accept Sarri bringing his ideas but keep you whining away.. We are not Napoli! We win and lose without finding excuses..

Our season will really depend on Ramsey showing up. We won't get far playing Can, Matuidi, Khedira etc. We may grind out the odd win but as far as executing Sarri's philosophy, namely pressing high and holding onto the ball when we get it, those guys lack either the dynamism or technique to do so.

Can't speak for Rabiot. I hope he explodes but even if he just turns out to be a Matuidi with actual technique, that would suffice IF Ramsey can stay fit, play regularly and provide the creativity we need.

But the questions which arise from watching both games against Napoli then Fiorentina is - why were we not able to press high against Fiorentina? And what was it that made Khedira play so well against Napoli as opposed to going completely missing in Florence?

- - - Updated - - -

Will need months to get into the game.If he is lucky enough to stay fit.
Is he really that far off??

So why do we often hear that other teams are ahead of us on the physical level?
I'm not sure how true that is but it's not like players are robots, they are people with all different physical conditions, might have played any number of games, international commitments, carrying injuries. I don't see why there is some black and white rule applied to something like this.

Well if you have another theory, I'm all ears. Unelss you think Italian teams are at the same physical standard as other teams in the past few years? :howler:
And you think that there was some breakthrough revolution in physionomy few years ago that in some mysterious ways bypassed Italy? Because I don't.

It's the beginning of the season so it's understandable players aren't at their best yet. Plus, as Sarri said, there are clear groups within the squad which are better and worse physically due to long term injuries or of field issues like Rabiot.

Fast players tend to get more muscular injuries like Costa, Sturridge or Bale. Costa is not at his best yet after he lost almost whole previous season. He didn't even go to Asia with the team. So even though the injury he got yesterday maybe could be avoided but it is not surprising.
Pjanic was carrying a knock from a Bosnia game so I don't see how it's related.

Coming back to Italian coaches. Mancini and Conte won super physical Premier League not so long ago. Sarri was third playing in Europe till the end. So where's your point?
