no imo palermo are better then inter they are more balanced that why they won, they have the 2nd best defense in italy right now and they 2 great striker for the futue makinwa and carraciolo
True, but that doesn't apply for all games, who knows that Ascoli would have drawn Milan and Gilardino would be such a disappointment?

it seems juve are repaeting the same tihng as last year 7 games wihtout conceding a goal and we already scored 5 goals unbeliavable!

And Sconcerti :)yuck: ) told Capello that since '98 the team that is going to win the scudetto leads SerieA after 2 matches..

ascoli drawn with milan beacause of the terrain on normal pitch milan would have beaten ascoli.

its a hard match ascoli drawn 0-0 with lecce today , i predict 1-0 win
Not easy to deal with Ascoli even with such a weak team they have.
Let's be cautious and grab the 3 points when our route is still smooth-sailing.

If we want to win the Scudetto we can't lose points to Ascoli at home, especially with almost all players at full fitness. I hope our squad will be big enough to rest some players in januari/februari, players getting tired in that period is the factor that decides the championship.

That really was as easy as it's going to get.
Nothing spectacular was needed to down this empoli side, a few nice combinations in the span of 7 minutes was enough to give us a 3-0 lead. The game was done and dusted by then. Had we pushed on at a high tempo, this game could've easily ended 6-0 or higher. Though there was no reason to push on and the business side of juve took over and we cruised through the match, with Trezeguet just adding one additional good goal to make it 4-0.

This Empoli never really tested our defence and it was an easy debut for both Balzaretti and Kovac. Both looking fairly settled in. Though never really tested. The Nedved-lookalike positioned well in attack, but his right leg seems to be somewhat of a chocolate leg. Abbiati looked less nervous compared to the last match as well. Zambrotta wasn't needed in attack this match and rightfully so did not waste much energy in sprinting up and down the flanks. Cannavaro was his good old self. Pesso in the first half solid as well.

Midfield finally looks to complement our team as it should. Even the Dutch commentator was in total awe of our midfield. Emerson and Vieira were completely dominating the midfield, leaving the opposition no chance. Though on the other hand, Empoli did give us a lot of space to manouver in. Emerson and Vieira were impressive both attackwise and defensivewise. This made for a good balance and this certainly means we have the potential to not look as one-dimensional in attack as we've looked in the past.
Camoranesi played a good first half, some slick touches and moves complemented by a slightly lucky goal. Seemed a bit lacklustre and energy-conserving the second half though.
I'm glad Nedved was good, I knew he'd come good. He was good JUST LIKE THE LAST MATCH.

Upfront Trezeguet is on fire; two chances two goals. After that he was even involved in the attacking moves, who knew he could cross like that! Could've scored a hattrick if he finished his third big chance or stayed on the pitch slightly longer. Zlatan was lively, but lacked a certain sharpness and seemed a tiny bit frustrated by not being able to score. A bit like Gilardino for Milan was frustrated yesterday, only less so.

Mutu only came in after the match was already dead and he did not manage to have an impact on the game. Though it seemed he really wanted to!
Zalayeta did make somewhat of an impact with some good moves and generally looking dangerous.

All in all a good match to have early in the season. Top of the table. If we get another result like this against ascoli next week I can see us clinging on to the top-position for a long time- Putting plenty of pressure on the chasing teams.

what does that mean?

It means that if you want to know who is gonna win the Scudetto you have to check who leads serie A after 2 matchdays. Following that, the winner of the 05-06 Scudetto will be either Juve, Udinese or Livorno...

At least, that's what happened since 1998 ;)

I liked that both two really enjoyed that space left by Empoli to run forward and deliver sly passes. Moreover, when Empoli closed down on both they were both ready to deliver to both the flanks.

The most important aspect of the two centrals was their skill in gaining back possession and the only attacks that came from Empoli were through long deep balls.

I think we are playing better away from home, because when we play at home, the other teams defend only and juve has problems to get good chances. away from home we have more space.
