And we were laughing at real Madrid defense earlier in the season...:wallbang:

40 goal agaisnt a season doesnt look like a tally for a scudetto winner... need some attack to cover that up... but with DP and Trezeguet only shone occasionally....

I am feeling alarmed by the fact that we've conceded so many goals this season as opposed to last year's. Certainly, there is something wrong as our tactics have not changed, but our performance has.

Everyone keeps raising the issue of bringing in new-blood to the defense, particularly, young and hungry blood. But I would think differently and suggest that we need to reshuffle the formation or at least adapt a "bit" more defensive one. We certainly aren't lacking firepower in our attack as we have scored dozens already halfway the season. Does anyone know how many we've score last season compared to this year's?

By adapting a more defensive one, we can certainly gain more balance in the team's over-all performance. This was our strength last year as we defended the goal really well and made swift and deadly attacks.

IIRC last season, we scored 64 and that was end of the season. but i dont know how many we scored @this time last season. so far our goals are 41. if we continue @this pace (scoring wise ;)) we'll exceed that. but it's the goals conceided that worries me

what is all the fuss about? ONe season where we are leaking some goals, and the world is over? Calm down people. In my honest opinoin, the problem is not only the defense. Its the midfield. Our midfield isnt winning any battles. We need our Davids back to supply the offensive midfielders with balls. Also, i dont konw if any of you have noticed over the years, but Juve's DM are highly responisble for the teams defense, and if we are not playing good DM, we have a big hole. Also, buffon seems out of it, hes just not performing like last season. Anways, the only good player i saw today was Trez, he was running hard and everything. EVen nedved, look out of it for once.

This was a match to win...
Many players sucked but in cases like this IMO the fault is of all the team, we cannot take 3 goals from Empoli :groan:

conceding three against empoli may sound like crap, but all three goals were absolute stunners of the galactico class.i find it hard to blame a team when they concede goals like that.

After seeing the highlights of the game and looking through the season , its gotten to a point where not just Juve should be alarmed but Italy as well

The Euro champs is round the corner and Buffon seems shell shocked as he is conceding goals left right and centre and he is even dropping balls as he is no more sure whats going on

No matter how much of a good goal keeper you are , if you keep on conceding like this then it starts to prey on your mind and you start to lose confidence

We have conceded 3 goals against Empoli whom I am not sure have scored 3 goals in a single match in any season talk less of this one alone, we conceded 2 against Siena and 1 was chucked off to nobody's comprehension

You listen to Moggi and Lippi and they come up with the rubbish that we are scoring so many, so its normal to concede so many as well so there is no need to rectify the problem

Can somebody explain to me how a team who has Zebina, Panucci and Delias in the defence can concede just 8 goals whilst we have conceded 21 in 18 matches?

Only the third goal against Empoli was class imo and even with that Conte did not do enuff to stop the cross and Iuliano and Montero were too slow to prevent Rocchi from scoring

The second goal was embarassing, nobody picked up Rocchi who just nodded the ball in

We do not have any divine right to beat anyone but for goodness sakes , you cannot be conceding goals to everybody all the time and at this rate our attack would have to score 100 to keep up

I cannot remember any time where we have beaten a team and not conceded at least a goal no matter how superior we are to them

At least, before, no matter how a defence is bad , when they come up against better opposition in their minds they defend better but we have conceded 3 at home to Inter, 2 at home to Roma, 2 away to Lazio and even though we battered Milan pillar to post, play wise we conceded a goal to them and it might have been 2.

For a team which is usually so professional in its approach as they do not have the class of players to beat the very best teams regularly, we are making a pig's ear of it this season
They are probably more interested in winning the Cl but with defending like this , it won't be easy

I dont agree, all goals were a result of poor defending

although I did not see the match and only 0.1% delighted with trez's hattrick, the results you could say could have shocked me to death. it left me in my worst bad mood so far this year.

and I am too busy to browse through the posts here, but I would like to know roughly how did our defenders do, and were the goals results of defending blunders?

I am very upset, mark my words Lippi and Moggi!!
But we'll survive through this

First and third were very nice goals... at list the match was entrateining :groan:
Second was absolutely ouers fault cause there weare so many black and white jerseys in the area but they all runned to Di Natale and Rocchi was left totaly alone.
Anycase IMO a team like Juve schould not allow a team like Empoli to have so many chances that's why IMO is fault of everybody from the fowards to the goalkeeper and of course the coach... Empoli was not suppose even to see the ball vs Juve... the match was taken in a total wrong way :(
The only one I save is Treze, I'm happy he is rocking again and up to sign a new contract.

@Denco: Buffon broke up with Vincenza Calì... and looks like they weare having problems 4 a while... maybe that's why he doesn't look so concentrate and safe of himself like before :D
