guys our objective this year is not the scudetto, it cant be- its to finish top 4. once we finish top 4 (and th players are definately good enough to do so) then we will re enter into champions league and by a couple of quality layers.

i was swearing at the tv during the bari game more than anyone but viewing it this way makes more sens and therefore relives alot of stress-

quad and del piro are both ss and we had no real out and out striker/target man. once amauri comes back or even iquinta, we should start to roll a bit mor because we now have wingers who can diler dangerous balls to our big boys up front (amauri/quad).

lets give the team a chance first boys before we riot-

juve for life!!

Dude - new players or not - the team created nothing all game and didn't even remotely look like creating anything - this is the real concern - a half decent team creates some chances even on their worst days

Finally, found a place I can rant!

I can't do anything but echo the sentiments of most users on this forum. I watched the Bari game. It was worrying.

I thought we would use this year to start rebuilding the foundations in a clever way by trimming some players from the squad and adding a few here and there. I was not expecting to see an influx of players with questionable caliber, and I certainly was not expecting to see Trez, Diego, and Seba leave. I think the overall standard of the team has dropped.

Plus, is anyone else as worried as I am about Del Neri and his one page playbook? I always thought that a good coach was tactically flexible depending on the players available. We have basically let talented players go, and brought in a flurry of questionable buys all to fit this guy's 4-4-2 tactics? Doesn't make sense.

The game against Sampdoria will give a clearer indication of what the hell is going on.

I agree with what you're saying. I think there are reasons to worry about the future of this club but to throw the toys out of the pram after one game and after the sale of one player is ridiculous.

However, I wish I could share your optimism about Juventus at the minute and that all will be fine by 2012. After relegation to Serie B the 3 seasons that followed were very encouraging IMO. We came straight back up in first season and were a strong side again in Serie A for 2 seasons. I'd even say we recovered from the relegation as best as we could have hoped for. However, the collapse of this side in the past year is worrying, we've went backwards. Patience is exactly what is needed but none is being shown. The club are rushing into signings and various managerial appointments without any clear thought or structure it seems. It appeared Guus Hiddink was one of our top choices but we weren't prepared to pay the wages he was asking for, we then went for Rafa (which would have been an awful appointment) and that never came off either. Who knows where Del Neri was on 'the list' of our most wanted managers. It's the same with various transfer targets, we seem to designate who we want and when we don't get them we panic and rush into a solution. A lot of money has been wasted in the past few seasons. The fact we have made a number of loan signings this summer isn't a clear sign of direction, it's another example of short term fixes and papering over cracks.

Last season was a wake up call and the club really needs to get it right this time, it's a delicate stage in this club's history at the moment and we need strong management and guidance, can't afford to many wasted seasons. Maybe the pressure from the fans isn't helping but I think a more calculated approach is needed for the club.
That's a really ood post. As far as the hiring of Del Neri, I think he was way down the list. It seems to me that not only Juve, but Serie A as a whole, is no longer a very attractive destination for top foreigners. This is indeed worrying. But regarding players, I see many big clubs doing loans (which was unthinkable a few years ago), and this is more to do with the global recession. There is little money floating around, and even less to be loaned by the banks. I am obviously staking our near-future on the revenue produced by our new stadium. We need the money more than ever now that television revenue has been slashed by 2/3.

BULLSHIT, Pado, and you know it.

Why didn't you say this when we beat our EL opponents earlier this month?

There is absolutely no excuse for losing to Bari.
Not bullshit. I didn't say it when we beat the Irish part-timers and Austrian also-rans because nobody was bitching. We were really poor in all 4 Europa matches. We have not gelled as a team and clearly struggled to see off inferior opponents. But, I do agree that our squad is largely made up of mediocre players right now.

why do you keep bringing the EL wins up?

it was clear we werent at our best then, and still needed time and people did mention it.

you argue that same point over and over it has no sense.

regardless of the fact that people mentioned it or not it still is 100% true.

we have effort players, we need them to put in 100% every game, we didnt see that against bari, more than anything we looked really tired.

what worries me is that now we have lost martinez, thats another option gone for the SS position, it leaves us with one back up winger.

so unless iaq recovers we will see del piero-quag again...

If we could buy Italian replacements for Melo and Krasic we would have one hell of a team!

I keep bringing it up because the whole "gel" thing is just an excuse. We've had a month of competitive matches before today with only Quag and Krasic not playing. So folks are acting like this a brand new team that's never seen a pitch before, and obviously that is wrong.

It's predictable stuff from this same crew who always try to find an excuse. Last year they said that Zacherroni needed time and then we'd get into the CL, right before we actually became worse than we were under Ferrara.

The fact of the matter is, if you have a good squad of players, you shouldn't be losing to Bari. I'm not going to accept the loss and find an excuse for it, we were poor and that's the end of it. We don't need time to gel to manage a draw with fucking Bari.

Aha but that's the thing! I am not even a positive person and I am underwhelmed by certain events around the club (not this match), yet I and others find ourselves having to play the role of ying to your yang.

And you didn't deny what I said. Of course you're happy, those are your favorite heros.

Either that, or you're a troll or a liar. You choose.

Whatever the case, I have no reason to read your posts.
