I agree. Our team is weaker than it was in the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons. The aura of invincibility is gone. On the other hand if we could improve our midfield we could be even better. Unfortunately that would require getting players the level of Verratti and I'm not sure how feasible that is for our board, seeing as they are quite cautious financially.
Thats a much better analysis.

Marchisio and Pjanic are unquestionably immensely talented players. But Marchisio is a player who supports, and Pjanic requires specific circumstances to thrive.

Indeed, the talent is there, but it needs something to add to it. 'Vidal + Verratti" would turn this team into the best team in the world.

We need to work hard on getting as close to such signings as we can.

This game showed all our weaknesses. Our lack of motivation, our groundless arrogance, the lack of creativity and grinta in our midfield. Fiorentina weren't even that good, we were that bad. We need to change. Come on Allegri, we need to change something radical in our playing style.
True.We make them look like Barca/Real.

Even with that average midfield we'd have beaten them had we had the right attitude.
True, very true, the expression of Bonucci's face like"I don't give a fuck about this game" when we were 2-0 down shows everything.

True but that combo is hardly achievable at the moment.

Bonucci in his pregame press conference was saying that this game means everything to La Viola, but for us it's just another game. Well, he surely played like it didn't matter.

That attitude is exactly the issue

We can beat anyone if we bring our mentality to the table. But in serie a we often cant care less and expect Higuain to score something

This attitude has to change now or we are risking throwing the whole thing.
You need a coach who is a true motivator for that r.I am not sure that Allegri got that type of charisma and skills.

Simply put when Pjanic is not playing there is no attacking play from our side, we just do crosses all the time. There is no link between attack and midfield. Allegri probably thought that Cuadrado would bring his creative spark, but he is completely out of form.
Pretty sure if we would play Rincon instead of Sturaro and Pjanic instead of Cuads (with Barza as RB) we would do much better, but it wasnt an option since Pjanic had minor injury.

Max isn't known for his motivation skills... I put the large blame in this issue on the players...
They all knew the rats will have the game of their lives and therefore they should've entered the pitch with a completely different mindset.

Caution went out the window last summer.

Which probably wasn't the best idea.

That's true but we lost this game solely because we had a zero effort .If we approached the game motivated and seriously, rats can play the game of their lives as much as they want,we would kill them. But unfortunately we played like a bunch of all inclusive tourist play at the beach during their summer holiday.

Am i late for the meltdown? :weee:

Allegri: send to Arsenal, sign Sousa. WC coach right there
Pjanic: statpadder whos only useful on set pieces. Sell to Arsenal, bring Vidal back
Higuain: fatass 90M choker, sell and buy Sanchez and Berardi. 433 baby :tuttosport:
Cuadrado: Black Krasic, send back to Chelsea, give them 5M if they refuse to take him
Sturaro: barely a human being, sell to Serie C
Khedira: WC lol
Asamoah: is it too late to send him to AFCON?

Watched the game for a second time.

Rundown:

Problems:

Nervosity

We look extremely shaky playing out from the back: Fiorentina is pressing us high. Still, we try to play out from the back, but keep giving the ball away, often looking for a long ball thats misplaced, or a backpass to Buffon, who has to send it over the throw in line after being pressed by Fiorentina attackers. This happens several times.

Its all exemplified by Sturaro who sends a simple backpass to the free throw line instead of passing it back to Barzagli.
not convincing, to say the least.

Concentration:

we make a lot of sloppy clearances, often directly to a Fiorentina player. They win 75% of the 50/50 duels, if not more. They seem a lot more focused and much more composed than us.

Offensive Rythm:

We look clueless going forward. Higuain is ruled out for offside several times after running after crosses that are fed behind the Florentine backline without any real intent. Frustrating.

Astori easily dispossess Dybala in the middle of the Park. He tries to dribble past the midfield directly towards the central defenders without any luck.

Fiorentina, on the other hand, look very lively:

Bernardeschi is pulling trickery in the middle of the park and is playing between our lines with ease.

Vecino is a great attacking threat and is giving us problems.

Kalinic's hold up play gives us all sort of problems.

Defending:

Our backline makes an awful lot of mistakes. unusual. often because they are pressured to the point where they have to whack the ball away. Our midfield is not giving them enough options.

They really struggle with Kalinic. He drags them wide, and takes the ball down with ease. should not happen this easily, but it does.
Time and time again.

Finishing:

two huge chances: first Higuain, then Dybala. We need to be more deadly if we want to win these matches.

Mentality:

We don't press aggressive or work hard enough to win back the ball. We make stupid fouls, and spend a lot of time complaining to the referee. Dissapointing.

Positives:

Higuain: : keeps on scoring and Looks in good shape. Unlucky to not score another one, but should head it somewhere else than directly at the keeper. Nevertheless, does his job well, which is promising.

Pjaca: Comes into the game and gives us more positives. Unlucky not to receive a penalty after a great run. The intent and potential is truly there. Needs to continue to work on his game and he will be a big hit for us.

Summary:

A game we should learn from and forget as soon as possible. All in all, piss poor performance, especially from our veterans that usually are so balanced/solid in these types of matches. We look like a serie C team at times and this kind of performance can only be described as totally unacceptable.

Allegri should field the 11 that gives everything for the team, is in form and is best prepared for the match.
Yesterday it did not look like he did.

Hopefully we take a deep look at ourselves in the mirror and work our asses off to improve.

As for the midfield situation, there is really no more room for playing Sturaro and khedira together in a competetive match.

They offer nothing creative and is truly destructive to our teams chances to win games.

We bought Rincon, and hopefully Alllegri fields him more in the future.

May we face our next game with more grinta and some real intent.

Forza Juve. Sempre.

:flag3::vidal:
I find it very worrysome that a softie like Khedira is our undisputed starter. The guy is VERY average for a team like Juventus and totally done at top level.

He is a box to box that cant box to box because doesnt have the stamina nor the defense, and who feels more comfort playing practically as a treq, but at the same time has zero endproduct and zero shooting.... so in the end he is everywhere doing fukin nothing.

pjaca: crotone level
dybala: his head is already at barcelona, sell
sandro: best rb in the world, my ass - easily dispossessed before fior's 1st goal, sell
buffon: could have been faster at both goals, let's get leali back
mandzukic: a decent striker at best, whose shortcomings are overshadowed by his defensive contribution. sell to china for 30m obo.

There wasn't anyone holding the ball in the MF cuz Marchisio is the only one who can do it and yesterday it wasn't our prince night. If you don't hold the ball in MF the pressure keep high and our defense was hesitating like hell all game long. This wasn't the first, at the beginning of the season we went through this and Max genius idea was using Dybala very deep down and it was killing him.

Max is the one who plays STuraro over Lemina and Rincon so this is all over his stupid choices. You can say that Khedira is out of form and playing bad but Sturaro is playing bad cuz he plays bad, thats it. Allegri is an stubborn xxxxxxxx and needs a couple of slaps from Beppe and start to do the things right

Marotta: disbanded a WC midfield in 2 years, sold Tevez and Morata. Hopefully hes off to England soon and Paratici takes his job (hes made all the great transfers past few years anyway)
