Roma – Juventus

The match of the weekend (and possibly of the year for the Giallorossi), as Del Neri’s Roma tries to halt Juve’s Scudetto run. The home team will have Totti back in the starting eleven after missing him during last weekend’s defeat away to Palermo: a major boost for the Roman squad. For Juventus the next 5 days might decide a whole season. First Roma then Real. Tension will be high especially considering the many former players (and coach) on the Bianconeri’s side. A match which could go either way and decide the chances of both teams obtaining their respective objectives.

Prediction: X

Delneri Seeks Win Over Capello
3/4/2005 2:53:00 PM
The Roma coach wants to avenge the first round defeat at the Delle Alpi of Turin.
Roma will be playing on Saturday night one of their most important matches of the season as they host Capello’s Juventus. Apart from the league position matters, this encounter is also very important for the Giallorossi due to the many former Roma men now with Juventus.

For Luigi Delneri, the most important thing will be that his players show the right attitude on the pitch to be able to make up for the first round 2-0 defeat in a one-sided match.

“Tomorrow, Roma’s attitude will surely be different from the first round. Apart from the technical abilities, I’m expecting a lot of fighting spirit from the players. A fair match, but a lot of fighting spirit.”

The Giallorossi coach has promised his fans that Roma will fight till the last minute to win this all-important game.

“Roma wants to give great satisfactions to its fans and will fight till the end to win this match. If the squad should fight till the 90th minute, it would already be an important result.”

If we take out Totti will we take out Roma.....
Juve89, don't worry ..... Have faith.. The thing is, we shouldn't worry about our opponant. We should adapt to any match with any player playing.
Last match against Siena showed good promissing football.
We don't have players like Milan do, nor what Inter have, so its not as easy for us as it is for them. Nevertheless, we always manage to win.
Just look at Inter, they must have had the best squad for the past 10 years, the result only one trophy. On the other hand, we had less powerful squad interms of names, but we managed to grab:
5 scudettos
1 Champions League
1 European super cup
1 Intercontinintal cup
1 Coppa Italia
2 italian super cup

Total of: 11 trophies.

We don't have berlusconi nor Moratti donating for the club, Agnellis are suffering from finacial problems.. Still we are the literally the best italian team for the past 10 years. Even more we are the best italian team in history.

So have faith.

Seems that Thuram has fever and its a doubt for the game:

It says also that in case that Thuram can't play Capello will use the 4-4-2 formation and will put Zebina in the center of the defence:scared::moan:

The good news is that it also says that if Thuram recovers form the fever, Capello will go with the 4-3-3 formation

Fabio Capello will return in the stadium that was his home for the past five years tomorrow evening when Juventus face AS Roma in the Stadio Olimpico.
However he won’t be welcomed as a hero by his former fans as the Romanisti consider him to be a ‘traitor’ to the Roma cause for joining Juventus, a team Capello had stated ‘he would never coach in his life’.

“I will go play on a pitch where I lived many beautiful experiences, but I don’t expect anything in particular. Am I afraid of being called a traitor? What happens on the pitch is more important than what will happen in the stands,” Capello said today.

“I will feel in a particular manner as I’m not made of stone, but we need to be concentrated on the game as its very important for us,” he added.

Thuram is in doubt for tomorrow night’s match as he has some lines of fever, while Trezeguet appears fit for the clash.

“Trezeguet feels much better, and therefore he will take a seat on the bench,” Capello confirmed.

Juve are set to play with a 4-4-2, with Del Piero and Ibrahimovic up-front.

sure we're having a bad year due to a few apredictable events

1st of all we're battling for a CL spot

second of all where the 2 squads stand means nothing in a match like this especially at the olimpico with 80 0000 romans

when the smoke clears Roma will Shine Brighter Than the Stars
