Yes.

Separation between Church and State. Marriage is a piece of paper which says that two persons are binded together financially. Catholics try to point it out to a religious issue, when it is actually not at all.

In the United States, if you share a residence with a person, after 8 years of living together, LEGALLY the state considers you married.

Thats true, but religion plays an important role in most people's lives

For example, if same sex marriage is legalized then little kids will start to learn it at school when they learn about marriage. Itll be weird

Many religions believe marriage is something that extends beyond this life. Therefore making it a religious issue and more than a piece of paper. A state marriage and a church marriage are different things.

A state marriage is a piece of paper.
A church marriage is marriage through god.

Personally I'm against it, however if people want to marry the same sex I can't do anything to stop them. Everybody has the free will to choose want they want to do with their lives.

Well I am an Athiest so: first paragraph is worthless, as is the second statement below.

(A state marriage is a piece of paper.) <-----That is all you need.

The other religious part doesn't matter in a court of law. And "god" doesn't either.

What will you do when you get married though? start supporting it?

Its easy when you make things so simple.

You questioned catholics making marriage a religious thing. I responded to that. You cant compare a 'state' or a registrar marriage to a church marriage so your whole thinking, reasoning and posting is pointless.

Organised religion is a sham, first of all, and second, if there was a God, I will talk to him one-on-one, I would not mess with any caniving middle-man.

Esp. not a middle man that has spent over $600 Million over the last 10 years trying to keep child molestation suits out of court.

Ohh, and who made things so hard, just break them down, it can't be that hard for the English mind.

I really dont understand how someone can be a total atheist and just simply not believe in anything. What about morals and values? You just gotta believe in something

I have neither morals or values.

I do what I feel, when I feel.

The only judgement I have is set in paper in Washington D.C.

Not to offend you but that sounds somehow immature.

    Why?

Did I report negative things you said about me?

Fabi, report me for being anti-God/religious.

    Worthless, pointless, and schadenfroidenous.
Negative is different. You can call me an idiot or whatever you want but adding your shitty little anti-english crap to most postings you make to me are not ok. Youve always done this and its became annoying, today you made two english references when posting to me. Ive read enough of that from you.

So does the belief in a higher being.
    How is that immature?

How is having morals and values immature?
