Do you think it is better for Juve to have 11 great players with 11 other players happy to be on the bench (eg: Birindelli/Zalayeta) or do you think it is better to have 22 players of similar ability who can be rotated??

For Juve it has usually been having 11 great players and the rest being back up

What do you think guys??

That's an easy one: you absolutely, desperately have to have a settled first 11 to win things. The second string can be as good as you want, but if you don't know your best team, you'll fail.

That's right.. that's why Chelski didn't win anything with Ranieri..

You dont need a regular 11 with back up thats equally good, so you have selection headaches for every game. You need a regular 11 with back up that complements them.

You can have an entire squad of good players, but the coach himself has to know his starting XI.It doesn't hurt to give the starters a little competition now and then but he has to stick with the same bunch of players more or less.Even some subs are used more than others.

Even so, rotation is a key factor for the season. IMO, that was the most desisive point in wining this last scudetto. Rotation of forwards gave Capello the best offensive in serie A. And the starting eleven will change, sometimes, depending of team youre against. Thanks God, seems to me that Capello has mastered it, at least this season.....

Rotation in one way or another is a necessity of course, but what I was saying is that a coach has to be sure of his best XI ie the one he'll be playing in the matches against Inter, Milan, Roma and in the knockout stages of CL.

I'm all for rotation in the easier stages of the season.

Just check how many games this season were played with the Capello ideal 11 in the field (not more than 35%).

Most of the time, necesity of rotation appears in the more critical moments of the season.

at least 14 world star players , 3 youngsters (one in each line) , 3 experinced players(one in each line) .

38 league games , 13 CL games , 4-5 coppa italia

it's almost 60 games + international games , injuries

man u for example ,,, they use rotation system

Arsenal uses best 4-4-2 available ,,,,

when both reached Fa Cup final manu players were fresh unlike Arsenal ,, same goes with milan they ended the season badly due to fatigue

I would go for regular 11, but Capello MUST know when to rotate in the season - or else we would be repeating Milan's mistake. The key is having an in - depth team, something which we thus far lack.

Go for regular 11, but rotate the team ard when needed. I can trust Capello since he pays attention to the players during training and knows what is ideal for the benefit of the team.

Each and every team needs to have a strong core as well as players who can complement that core. I'm all about rotation and it's going to be necessary this season with the schedule packed tighly together because of next summer's World Cup Finals, but too much of it could hurt a team. The coach needs to know his ideal 11 and these players must establish a good understanding between each other.

i personally would like to have 14-15 players of similar ability to rotate them. strong first 11 is a good thing but when they get tired its not that good then..
