This season, even more so than last, we needed to shore up a couple of starting positions but instead chose to strengthen the bench. Surely, this market does not deserve a rating of more than 5/10 if those needs are not addressed. Anything short of Armero/Kolarov and Dzeko/Llorente/JoJo/Torres (new-old interest) would be short of a failure.

I don't think so, buddy.
Vidal, Nazi, Pirlo, Vu were all acquired last mercato for starting position. We just need a CF now that's it.
If BonBon is truly in the clear.

I agree tho, this mercato isn't exactly exciting but we are not as short as last season.

Sure we needed to add some quality depth in a couple areas, no doubt, but our biggest needs were the gaping holes at CF, and LB/LWB. 3 weeks to go, feeling a bit like we've been here before. Thankfully I'm a fan of the players we've brought in this mercato, but the man still can't prioritize.

I agree, he needs to get his priorities straight.

and don't worry, 3 weeks is more than enough for a good negotiator

Exactly, I can see him pushing for a move there. Wouldn't be surprised if he went to Barca.
I read an interview with him only last season and he said he rarely watches other football. Said the only other team he likes to watch is Barca, liked the way they played the game, have the same philosophy etc. I'm not so sure they would pay the money for him though as they don't really need him, they might prefer to wait and see if he becomes a free agent next summer.

I'm surprised PSG haven't went for him the way they are throwing money around. He wouldn't fit in with Ibrahimovic at all but it wouldn't have surprised me if they just bidded for him anyway. Maybe they have more sense though...

It will go through on the 31st. Fergie will get his man.
Wenger is pretty stubborn, i'm not sure how this will pan out.

I do have doubts over the legitimacy of Fergie's bid for him: Do they really have the resources to chase a striker when other areas of their team need fixing? I wouldn't be surprised if he's 'chasing him' to keep the fans happy, after recent developments at the club, without any expectation they will be able to match the fee required.

Man U is desperate, after losing the title and losing all their summer targets, like Lucas and Hazard. They had to close this deal.
