Best game ever made?

Your call...

For me the Resident evil series is the reason i started having an interest in video games.
Back in 1996 Resi 1 was smth unique,
it had the best 3D graphics around realistic looks and play and an atmosphere that none other was able to deliver...
it was the year i had to choose a path for my future life,
Police or Medicine?
two totally different worlds...
resident evil combines both, in a way...
You start as a cop, fighting the results of a virus...

well with the years games industry ultradeveloped,
the competition is very high these days,
the Resident evil series, film like surving horror/action gen has been copied mutated several times,
it was hard for the original series it self to survive this battle unless there was a big change of scenary but in the the same time the atmosphere sould be kept intact.

The creation of this try is Resident evil 4,
originally published for GC,
it was considered as a state-of-the-art achievement,
the best game ever made for GC
and another exemple of the techinical superiority of NINTENTO GC in front of the "older" console, PS2.
The impression last year was:
"this game looks like a next generation game,
GC was pushed over its limits this time,
PS2 owners cant even dream of a similar game"

Well Capcom had to add smth things about these comments,
10 days ago Resident Evil 4 for PS2 arrived in Europe!!!
Capcom invested some serius efforts and money to make this port run smooth and they even further developed it adding more extra exclusice stuff than the original version.

And they are very confident this is going to be a best seller,
well today, they sold one more copy:D,

i will soon return with more impressions...

I dont like Resident Evil. But for horror-fans I bet this is the greatest game in a long time.

i beat it for gamecube last year. this game took 2 weeks of my life and scared the shit out of me to where i had to play it with the lights on. it gets quite difficult too, so many zombies to shoot. i dont know what the ps2 twist is but i think this game is one of the best shooters/rpgs ive played in a while.

Sorry but how is it an RPG?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning you, in fact I haven't even played it or any other entry in the series. Just curious cos it never struck me as one.

Well i ve now finished that in the ps2 version,
    regarding the RPG question,
its not an RPG but it has some new RPG elements,
like the inventory and colect money and upgrade weapons system,
    there are some side guests
and if u change ur armour the difference is visuable.

There is no Umbrella this time and there isnt any variations of T-virus,
this time ur enemy is a parasite and ur aim to save the presidents daughter,
ur enemies will hunt u down everywhere, brake doors and use ladders to reach u.
The atmosphere is great again,IMO one step back in realism, but a few steps forward on action.

The cam is great, its one of the best solutions around,
the game uses a third person cam,but its not the standard placed cam Resi series uses, its a cam that follows the player,it gives u the impression that u are there right after ur caracter,u can see all the damage inflicted to him and all the actions he makes, but when u need to look around the right stick on ps2 pad is ur best ally,
when ur caracters runs u fall one step behind just like in NFSU when ur car uses nitro,
when its time to take a shoot the cam focus,it feels like u are exactly behind ur caracters soulder and ur aiming isnt based in any virtual cross but ur laser attached on the weapon.
This hybrid system has all the advantages of both 1and3person games, Capcom tried many variations in previus games but this works great,u cant miss the action.

too easy really. The last boss was a MAJOR dissapointment, and the only time where I felt challenged was when two of those chainsaw guys came into play. Tough fucks!

Should have replied to this a while ago. I gave it the "/RPG" because it doesnt play like a traditional shooter. It has multiple characters, multiple ways through a leve, and even a few puzzles. While it is not a RPG exactly is more of a shooter that tries to play like one. Excuse my misleading choice of description earlier.:D

I have grown to love the Resident Evil series, for its tense scenes and sometimes abit confusing puzzles.

The last one I must say must be one of the best, it looses some points coz its not exactly as frightning as some of the first games.

But game play has definately improved and they are starting a new storyline. i still think Umbrella will play a part, but its not the T-virus.

It kinda makes me feel bad to buy pirated video games.

But if anyone here wants some really intense scary shit then its better they go for Fatal Frame series, that shit is creepy.

Infact the village that we play in RE4 kinda reminds me of the village in Fatal Frame 2. Now this is a game I can't play alone in the dark, RE series have become more of an action game than a thriller.

Thats tough. Did you unlock the guy with bow and arrow yet? Or is he only in the Game Cube version?
For the mercenaries? yes I did, however you cant use him on story mode.- Im using leon on story mode- without superweapons.
