Serie A
Last year 72 pts---- 20-12-6 (72:37)
This year 74 pts----21-11-6 (69:37)

Coppa Italia
Last year – ¼ finals
This year – ½ finals

Champions League
Last year - /
This year: Second round

More points than last year, worse goal difference, 1 place improvement in the standings.
One could say that Juve repeated last year’s performances and that won’t be far from the truth. Considering how last year we had the referees against us in the opening 10 rounds and how we secured the 3rd place pretty early which allowed us to play relaxed in the last 3 rounds (we won only 2pts of the possible 9), I guess you could say that this year we didn’t do any better. But if you have in mind that we played 10 more tough CL matches, that we probably broke the world record of injured players and we advanced one round further in the Coppa then you could also argue that there was an improvement in Juventus. When you take into consideration all the pluses and minuses, the conclusion is that there was a slight improvement.
36 rounds with Ranieri, 2 rounds with Ferrara. As it turned out, we would’ve been at least 3rd even with Ranieri, but changing the coach is probably the difference between 3rd and 2nd.

How would you rate the season? Was there any improvement or not?

We have improved... The way we reacted to coming back to Serie A from B was more than expected... We overachieved our goals last year... Looking at that we should have improved much more this season... But the margin of improvement wasn't as drastic, but we have improved nonetheless...

There's a slight improvement that is not really worth mentioning. What hurts is that we could have improved a lot but the latest dip was terrifying.

7, slight improvement.

The season was pretty much how I expected, but I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't make Inter work harder for the title.

There has been an improvement, but not spectacular.

A very good season has been ruined by a two month dip which isn't acceptable. All in all, I'm satisfied.

Bravo Alen, i wanted to ask for such a poll/thread since yesterday.
It is now the appropriate time to judge our season!

Since the end of August, it was clear to me that we are not going to have any title chances (except the cup of course)
I was utterly disappointed then for two reasons;
-Because we have compromised our five year plan, the amount of mediocrity was a clear indication that we wont have the team to create a competitive team by the the end of time schedule
-And because despite the sacrifice of our 5 year plan, we have also failed to improve the quality percentage of our starters, esp our defense starters!
Realistically, there was absolutely no chance to do any better than that!!

Yes Inter has lost their motivation, but they are so many steps ahead of us, it cant be a contest. And we cant win a serious team in Cl with that defense.
We are not competitive in every line, we cant compete with the best, get over it...

All what was left for us to do was rank above Milan, Roma and Fiorentina.
Last year the refs have slaughtered us, if we were facing the same treatment this year and without the extra determination we had in our first year back in serie A.
We would have ranked bellow Fiorentina!
Thankfully they have shown some mercy this year.
The added depth only helped us to confront with the ridiculous amount of injuries.
Roma had a terrible year, Fiorentina over-performed reaching CL+plus etting the basis for a good squad in the future and Milan had an extremely bad start of the season and would have never had the chance to threaten us normally.
It was all working to our favor, we did our duty, nothing more, nothing less.
Our announced target, the reason we have sacrificed our enhancement as a team, was to do better than last year. And we have ranked 2#
Mission accomplished as far as i am concerned!
We had a good performance in the CL and i am personally pleased with what we have accomplished there!
In the previous poll, i voted for a seven and it would have been a 6 if we have reached 3# and a 4 if we were in the 4th#

The greatest opportunity we have wasted, was the cup, we could have nailed it when we were winning Lazio, but CR ordered our players to fall back and give away our only realistic chance to win smth.
A fatal mistake there and one more, when we have entered into the third crisis and made the historic two month without win record!!

These mistakes were somewhat fixed, by removing the source of our problem, CR. This has been a significant step forward, that is also included in the progress of our year. We have realized, what i did since last year, that CR is not the way to go. Therefore it is an 8 for me, after all!!
We have the prestige of 2#, decent CL appearance and realization of one major issue (coach)
Come on, who really expected more than that at the beginning of the year??

I understand the bitterness of the ones that were expecting for tittles, but they should have known better...
I only see two negatives in the performance of our season.
(which does not includes our catastrophic summer transfer policy, that have amputated our hopes/chances)
Nothing good will remain out of this season, i was expecting us to waste a year without titles, but above of a decent performance, i would like to see some improvements that would have helped our team in the future!
Unfortunately we have also failed to use our promising material, mostly Giovinco and DC, properly. Since we have already failed to improve our team's first eleven in the transfer market, we should at least use those present more efficiently, or at least, pave the way for their future.
This is unacceptable!
Molinaro has no future in a competitive team and Neddy was bound to retire.
We had to endure Marchionni and Zebina because of our boards stupidity,
but we could have used Giovinco and DC more. If those two were proved or not good enough, we could make some safer decisions for the future shape of our team.
ATM, we dont know if DC is more effective as a LM, or LB and Giovinco as LM, AMF or LSS. And we cannot calculate our transfer policy precisely because of that.
Should we waste money to buy new players and condemn on the bench or throw them away?
Or should we trust them and buy other players considering other priorities.
IMO that was an essential part of a growing team.
We could afford to use them more with greater benefits for our future.
Our season wouldnt have been a total waste on the development department otherwise. In other fronts, we have lost Treze to Amauri, which is more creative but less prolific and Poulsen to CZ, which is not more reliable than the current version of CZ we have.
The only real benefit of the season as far as i am concerned
(in terms of development) was Marchisio!! CR tried to chop him as well, but the unreliable Tiago, Poulsen and CZ, helped him to push forward!

Objectively, our realistic targets have been accomplished!
This is exactly what i have been expecting to happen, but when i tried to warn you, i was labeled a "pessimist" and treated with the ironic we are doomed, lame quotes (like i ever said that, saying that we dont have any chances for titles this year is one thing and we are doomed is totally other thing)

PS 1: I repeat, my rating of the season does not include our catastrophic, summer transfer policy!!

PS 2 : And i wonder for the ones who have rated our performances with six and yet, believe that we had a better season, what kind of lower rate would have given to our previous season???

IMHO, we have slightly over-performed in both season, achieving higher positions, that our material where worthy of...
IMO, Roma and Milan have underperformed, not us.

this season was a wash since the 1st match. it was evident that it was gonna be a bad year and even though we barely finished 2nd we definitely receded in terms of improvement and progress compared to last season
