It’s interesting that when other coach’s like Klopp have big injury problems in their squad and fail spectacularly, it’s chalked up here as a good explanation for their failure and they still a great coach.
When Allegri had big injury problems here his last season, it was considered entirely his fault, he was constantly insulted, and people wanted him sacked even though he cruised scudetto with 90 pts.
And now we’re seeing the same with Pirlo. Squad has dealt with a ton of injuries to important players, and illness too.

I agree with everything you said. I would even go further and say that even without injuries, Klopp had been doing a poor job this season. They were poor in attack, leaky in defense. He just has a plan A, which worked great for 2-3 years, but teams have figured them out and Klopp is clueless with coming up with a new idea.
My problem with Allegri at the end of his tenure is not so much our tactics, but the fact that he and the team looked emotionally and mentally drained- which I do not blame him for. 5 years at a club like Juve takes its toll on you.

I was most annoyed with his ridiculous spats with the imbeciles in the media that last year. He let it get to him and took it way too far which wasn’t a good look and I doubt it helped the squad mentality. It was either wholesale rejuvenation of the squad or allegri getting sacked. Was why I was somewhat okay with moving on from him as long as we got a top coach. Spending a fortune on Ronaldo probably ruled out the former, but in hindsight, elite coaches don’t grow on trees, and we had no plans to replace him with one so rejuvenation of the squad for him and his wants specifically probably would have been a better choice.
Klopp is another who likely burns out players physically and mentally over a couple years. And we’re seeing that now. I’d say he also got quite lucky in facing Tottenham in CL final, vs Max facing treble winning Barca and Zidane’s Madrid, all-time great teams.
