Player's Agent Murdered In Croatia
6/12/2005 2:46:00 AM
The agent of top Croatian league star Niko Kranjcar was killed early on Saturday morning in the country's capital. Zagreb.
The 43-year-old Dino Pokrovac was killed by gunfire on the stairs of the building where he lived, Croatian police revealed.

The murder happened around 3 o’clock in the morning. Police still have no details about a possible suspect.

There were also no suspects after an incident last year in which an unknown person set a fire under Dino Pokrovac’s car in the same Korculanska Street in Zagreb.

Dino Pokrovac was the agent of talented Hajduk Split and Croatia midfielder Niko Kranjcar.

Pokrovac was involved in Niko Kranjcar’s transfer from Dinamo Zagreb to Hajduk Split earlier this year. The transfer produced protests from Dinamo Zagreb fans.

However, police are not connecting his murder with the transfer.

Wow, that is ridiculous and sad at the same time. But you can't help but think his murder has something to do with Kranjcar.

Perhaps our Blue-boy Barkuss can give us some information on this one..

I don't think some fanatics/supporters whatever had killed him. Organized crime seemed to be involved. There is a lot of corruption in Croatia even in high political positions. According to Goran Ivanisevic you can't even build a doghouse without bribe there.

By the way, it's more likely this is just a random attack that unfortuantely left the man dead, sometimes people can think too much about something :p
