Why dont play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-1-2 actually 4-2-3-1 has to be tried but who plays on the left if chiesa is unfit Italian or swedish bernadeschi

4231 is a fancy 442, with Dybala as AMC it faces exactly the same problems. It worked in the Cardiff season because Mandzukic and Cuads worked double hard and helped Pjanic and Khedira hold down the fort + did all of the attacking. Not sure if Cuads 4 years later is up to the task, but surely worth a try. Long term I think the AMC for that system has to be a two way player not Dybs. 4312 requires at least two signings and makes you play our wingers out of position.

Im willing to suffer this season (looks like we will with or without Dybs) in order to be able to build towards a set playing system, acquiring players precisely targeted for a specific role.

Dybala (at least how Allegri seems to see him) basically fits 2 systems - 442 and 352. Mourinho proved 15 years back that 442 will suffer against a three man midfield and since then nothing has changed, so our 442 will have only one real winger, the other one will be a goddamn CM in an ugly hybrid formation. 352 wastes the talents of Chiesa and Kulu, damning them to substitute for Dybala or to play wingback. Another interesting option is an attacking CM, but Id say thats too deep for classic wingers who like to break into space.

We played 4-2-3-1 with Dybala as the CAM in 2017 when we almost won every title possible. Fits Chiesa and Kulusevski perfectly too since they're immensely labourous and will track back to help the defense.

I think most of his so called haters would be glad to have him on a contract around 5-6 mil/year and as a rotational player. The problem is that many don't want an inconsistent player like him to be the key forward for us on a massive wages that will make it impossible to sell him in case his form goes down.

We shouldn't give massive wages to anyone ever again. Agree about his inconsistency and his low stamina, I don't have the numbers and I'm too lazy to search them but I bet that if you break his performance in low, median and high.... the lowest should be around 5.2-5.4, we have like 7 players which highest average it may be that so I'm just amused about how much people put all their frustration on him

I know that you only can be disspointed when you have expectations and they don't have with the others, I get that, however it's still a mistake IMO

I can’t think of one. Whether it is due to the deficiencies of the team or preference of the individual(s) is irrelevant in my opinion. It shouldn’t be a viable strategy for a big team that wants to consistently achieve.

Whichever club Messi plays for. There are also some other forwards who like to be very involved in the build-up like Kane, Benzema and Firmino for example. Obviously they don't drop Dybala/Messi deep but they play the centre forward role for their teams while Dybi/Messi play in a deeper role. I just think Dybala is a player who needs to be as involved as possible to get in to the right rhythm. He won't ever be a player that just plays on the shoulder of the last defender and touches the ball ≈20 times a game.

We only win the ball when we are deep in our half. So that's where he has to come to get the ball. It's very logical.

If you win it higher, then the strikers will receive the ball in higher positions.
