I'm saying that Dybala is only an acceptable purchase at 25mil and below. As far as Dybala vs Berardi, it's hard to say who will have the better career. But at 25 for Dybala, and 15 for the remaining half of Berardi, both of them are good transfers.
30 mil + for a 21 year old, with a single good season, on the last year of his contract is absurd regardless of the market. We don't have that kind of money to gamble.

How on earth has Dybala been more consistent? In the first 6 matches he had 1 goal and 1 assist. He had a fantastic run of form from Round 7 - Round 19 where he scored in 8 of 12 matches, (goal or assist in 10 of 12 matches)... Since round 19, in his last 12 matches he has 3 goals and 3 assists. He's been held off the scoresheet (goal and assist) in 7 of 12 matches, including a run of 4 straight games with nothing. All told Dybala has been held off the scoresheet (goal and assist) in 13 of 30 matches he has appeared in.
SO Dybala's great season consists of a very good 12 match run of form (9 goals-6 assists), and 4 goals and 4 assists in his 18 other appearances which is nothing to write home about, and is also the form he is currently in.
Berardi has 11 goals-6 assists in 26 appearances, and has been held off the scoresheet (goal and assist) in 13 of 26 appearances. He's also in very good form for the stretch run, with 8 goals in his last 12 appearances. Their consistency is almost identical this year, with Dybala getting slightly better results.
Dybala also had a crap season in Serie B last year, while a younger Berardi was tearing it up in Serie A.
And the prior year Dybala was crap in Serie A with Palermo, Berardi was tearing up Serie B.
Berardi is 27 goals - 12 assists (from whoscored) in 4340 Serie A minutes by age 20
Dybala is 16 goals - 10 assists (from whoscored) in 3862 Serie A minutes by age 21
I'd say Berardi has easily shown more than Dybala in terms of consistency and ability to singlehandedly take over a game.
Last year, Berardi has 3 goal game against Fiorentina to singlehandedly give Sass 4-3 win. 3 goal game against Sampdoria to singlehandedly give Sass 4-3 win. 4 goal game against Milan to singlehandedly give Sass 4-3 win. And this is a 19 year old at the time, against teams all in the upper half of the table. Dybala hasn't shown anything close to those performances yet.

I think they should do a similar deal as they did with Zaza this summer with Berardi. Sell him with a buyback clause. Gives him 1 more year to put out more consistant performances to prove hes worthy to be in the rotation here. Zaza has shown that he hasnt. But I have more belief in Berardi. Give him 1 more year and he could explode

I've watched both of them play. Many times. More so Berardi, because no one on the forum, including you was watching Dybala sucking balls as a 20 year old in Serie B last year, while Berardi was running rampant as a 19 year old in Serie A.

Half of Berardi for 15 mil is great, because we didn't pay 15 mil for his first half. We'll have paid far less than 25 mil for a prospect who has easily shown as much as Dybala, if not more.

Obviously no one here can predict whether Dybala will turn out better than Berardi or vice versa, there is nowhere near the sample size of performances and seasons to tell this.
Dybala could turn into a superstar. But for 40-50 mil that's being talked about, he's way behind the 8 ball. He turns 22 this November. He hasn't done near enough to justify the price tag.
