Sissoko next on Juve list

Juventus have turned their attention to signing Mohamed Sissoko of Liverpool after missing out on Torsten Frings.
The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season’s likely Serie A campaign and are monitoring the Mali international after Frings extended his contract at Werder Bremen last week.
The 22-year-old, who boss Didier Deschamps asked for last November, is considered by many as the new Patrick Vieira – a player Juve lost to Inter after Calciopoli.
Reports in Italy on Tuesday claim that Sissoko is valued at just under £6m, a fee the Old Lady are willing to pay to net the youngster.
Sissoko, who was born in France, is highly rated by Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez but does face stiff competition for a starting shirt at Anfield.
The Champions League finalists already have Javier Mascherano, Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard in their squad and they have agreed to sign Brazil U-20 captain Lucas Pezzini in July.
Sissoko, who represented Les Bleus at Under-21 level before opting to play for the country of his parents, joined Liverpool in 2005 from Valencia.

sounds good..
but i think we have enough youngsters here..
what we need now is player who have capability to lift the confidence of the team..
also he can be the role model for the youngsters..

I just wish Secco would read my mind and go after Riquelme .. as an attacking midfielder and a player to control the flow of the ball in center half he is just what Juve need ..

whatever happened to bringing in Gilberto Silva ?

I just keep hearing names left and right and that is not really a good sign .. its like Secco is lost .. he needs to get a move on and sign the big names soon !

i think you'll find that Paro will move on and if sissoko does join, then Nocerino most likely wont join.

Marchisio will remain..all the other midfielders will have experience.

Also, i think we'll bring in some stars which can carry the younger players in the games.

Although I think Sissoko will be a good player in the future, I am seriously concerned about this move. Sissoko has not been able to break through the likes of Steven Gerrard, Xavi Alonso, and Javier Mascherano at Liverpool. He is 20 years old and to be frank, truly lacks any real football mentality. Sure, he is young and has a huge upside, but right now Juventus need a DM that can start immediately and be a rock in the center of the field. I don't think that Sissoko offers that on any level.

Personally, I would approve of the move if he was one of 2 DM signings. However, I fear that the Juventus front office is getting desperate and honestly think that a 20 year old will be the answer for our central midfield. We currently have Zanetti, Giannichedda, Paro and Marchisio for next year, and this leaves a lot to be desired to say the least. Quite frankly, three out of our four current central midfielders are average options (for different reasons). I would seriously oppose bringing in a player like Sissoko who would just add to this problem.

I definately would rather see Juventus save the money and just keep Tacchinardi, or bring back Maresca for next season and focus our efforts on Barzagli, Dainelli and a striker. If the big namers don't want to come to Juventus right away, then we should keep the money in the bank for the next transfer period. Bringing in young players is not the answer and could compound our current problem. It isn't the easiest league for a 20 year old to start. After all this is the Serie A.

I vote for:

Gilberto Silva
M. Diarra
A. Diarra
R. Mavuba

:agree:
i think the midfield will be patched up if all the players that are already here stay and we bring in Sissoko with Nocerino.

have you ever seen sissoko play football? that is exactly what he is, A ROCK! he has no true footballing ability, but for his role he doesnt really need it and to say he cant break through the likes of gerrard, alonso and mascherano is hardly an insult as they are world class players with experience.

sissoko is a destroyer, he steamrollers teams in midfield and he completely destroyed barcelona single handedly earlier in the season, momo for around 8million would be a brilliant pick up in my eyes.

i dont see how you could prefer tacchi, even if it meant saving some money, momo is already better than tachi despite being a lot younger, i would love to see him in our midfield.

as for your other choices i agree that they would be equally as good

unproven inexperienced youngster with a proven experienced youngster.... yeah crazy idea! why would we ever want to replace paro with sissoko, or for that matter marchisio with fabregas!
