I'm just playin around but on a serious thought, the 2nd game against Scotland is one of a very few big games I remember Italy winning in white. Mostly draws and losses

Del Piero & Pirlo Dropped!

The Azzurri’s Euro 2008 destiny is out of their own hands, and they simply must go for the win in their match against France to give themselves the best chance of qualifying for the quarter finals.

Italy coach Roberto Donadoni made five changes for the 1-1 draw against Romania, and it now seems that he is set to make some more tweaks for the match against France.

One thing is certain and that is that Del Piero, who was a major disappointment against Romania, will be on the bench, with Antonio Cassano taking his starting place.

Simone Perrotta will also definitely drop out, while there are strong reports that Andrea Pirlo will also be axed. Donadoni wants a stronger base in midfield, and will bring back Milan duo Gennaro Gattuso and Massimo Ambrsoini, despite their under-par displays in the 3-0 thumping by Holland.

The only other question mark is over the place of Mauro Camoranesi. The Juve man was outstanding in the first half against Romania, but tired as the game wore on. Donadoni is considering freshening things up and unleashing Antonio Di Natale on France’s ageing backline.

Gianluigi Buffon will be handed the captaincy again now that Del Piero is on the bench.
DONEadoni is a bonafied IDIOT !!

I laughed my ass off when I read the comment from Rob of England, which followed this article on goal.com-

It is finally official. Donadoni is half retarted and half french. I'm not sure which side is worse.
:D :D :D :D

The only positive of a loss tomorrow is that we will never have to see that retard again

Pirlo is simply too important a player for Italy to be dropped.Bad form or not,he's a very vital player. On song he's one of most creative players in the world, and Italy need him for a big game.Italy need to score. They cant play for a 0-0 draw.Pirlo, despite his poor form,is capable of turning it around in a big game.Taking a gamble on someone who could offer you unlimited creativty if he hits form is better than taking a gamble on players like Ambrosini and Gattuso..both of whom btw, have been poor.Donadoni should probably start both Aquilani and Pirlo, with De Rossi.
sorry, but Pirlo has been useless the past 2 games....cant pass or shoot

goal.com believe this will be the line-up:

Buffon; Zambrotta, Panucci, Chiellini, Grosso; Camoranesi, Pirlo, De Rossi, Aquilani; Cassano, Toni
that may be our best possible lineup....only if everyone performs (hint, hint Pirlo)

So much talk and it's all useless because the Romanians will beat Holland tomorrow. The Dutch will let Romania win. And why shouldn't they ? France, and especially Italy would have done that without thinking twice.
I'm afraid that I see this coming as well....

heres hoping I'm wrong:xfinger:

Vin, I have to say I am happy you are as disappointed with Pirlo in this Euro tourney as I am. I've been hinting at it but have been a little shy to say so. Pirlo has been absolutely terrible. His performances are what Italian success hinges upon. With Pirlo at his best, close games become blow outs and referee decisions cease to matter. The only way Italy progress tomorrow (other than Romania losing) is with great play by Pirlo. If Pirlo is not his best, then Italy go packing.

Van Basten has been going on for days now that they will be going all out to beat Romania and maintain their 100% record at these championships. Here's hoping that its not just BS to cover up when Romania beat them. If the Dutch do go out and beat Romania ill be happy as ever especially if Italy go through, but if they throw the game, i hope the next team they face beat their asses!

They won't throw it. Their Dutch, even when they loose they play hard.

I agree. If Holland lose,it'll be on merit, somethnig that Romania are perfectly capable of pulling off. They wont lose on purpose.Im still going for a dutch win.3-1 perhaps. No bench player would want to underperform and not want to push for a place in the starting 11 in the knockout phases.

and actually their bench has been their strength!

if players like Robben van Persie Afellay Huntelaar start the game, I can't see Romania beating them...
