Del Piero and Cassano could destroy defenses.. this could be mouthwatering if Donadoni knows how to create a squad. Which he unfortunately doesn't.

I feel he'll start Del Piero, but substitute him with Cassano in every game. He wants to give the public what they want, but he prefers Cassano. I think Italy should gamble and play the trident: Del Piero-Toni-Cassano.

Not too disappointed with Quag, he at least has some experience. I'd prefer Inzaghi over Borriello though, he is a perfect replacement for Toni.
:agree:

I expected Quags and wanted Quags to get a call up. I don't know why we called Borriello instead of Pippo. Borriello hasn't really proven himself on the Azzurri IMO but of all the mistakes Donadoni could have made I guess I can handle this one. It would have been nice having Pippo's goals though because he always scores when you need it the most.

very happy for DP

but I completely disagree about Borriello and Quag.....Pippo should be there
I would have to agree with you there but his choices are very satisfying except Panucci as he and Materazzi are disasters waiting to happen.

Seriously when it comes to defending against pace, they are both extremely embarassing and I cannot see Panucci coping at all with Robben eg

I would have picked Maggio and Gamberini instead though Maggio seems more of a right winger.

I would be disappointed if Cassano is the 1 dropped as talent wise he is 1 of the best Italy has to offer.

Even he cannot go crazy in 1 month and he knows he is not a starter and lucky to be considered so I do not expect him to misbehave.

It would be a shame if Montilivio or Aquliani missed out as the Milan trio have had relatively poor seasons.

Fabio Quagriella had a fabulous campaign at Sampdoria but every time I have seen him for Udinese he has been poor but has still scored a number of goals but Pippo is Pippo and at 100 years old he would still be offside and he would still be scoring goals.

I don't understand the dislike for Di Natale on here as I would always take him, he has had a fabulous season, possibly scored the goal of the season and of late has not let Italy down when called upon.

He is not as skilful as Dp and Cassano but he is more versatile and less complicated than those 2 as he is quicker than them and could also play as a winger that neither of those 2 can do.

Overall though the squad is better than I thought it would be but slight worry in defence but the likes of Gatusso and Cannavaro seem to rise to these occasions and here is hoping they do this time round

Agree there. DP is the only experienced head upfront here. I dont think we can rely on Borriello or even Quag when a game gets to grinding levels like games against France ususally do
