Why are people so happy for Barzagli getting an injury ?

Weren't some of these same people arguing with me and few others in the last year, claiming how we're fools who don't know football and don't know that Barzagli is the next great defender Italy produced ?
Hahahahahaha... yea I was thinking the same thing. I argued with a few and I said that he was crap in all of his Azzurri games and people here were saying he was dominant with the Azzurri.
Btw who changed my avatar? Its not bad but i prefer the old one

The stupid American yes.
With his 22 years he acts even more stupid than my nephew from 6 years old.
Eventually he will defend himself by saying he goes to university and he's actualy very smart bla bla bla.

The biggest hypocrite together with that Bayern idiot.
How could you not hate Americans when they present theirselfs like this?
you grouping all Americans together just proves your ignorance......

now, go learn some manners

Lazy Perrotta Stays In Bed And Misses Press Conference
Simone Perrotta was supposed to be present at the Azzurri's press conference this morning but, instead of waking up, he stayed in bed and missed it.
The Roma midfielder was due to meet and greet journalists at Casa Azzurri to take and answer questions ahead of La Nazionale's vital clash against Spain.

However he failed to wake up in time and Christian Panucci was called to fill in and an Azzurri spokesman has revealed the reasons behind Perrotta's absence.

This latest shambles from the player comes exactly one week after he missed the Azzurri team bus following the Romania game for being late.

“He (Perrotta) woke up late for an Omega test,” said a spokesman.

“The Omega test reveals signs of fatigue of the players and thus he missed the press conference.”

It doesn't seem as if the player really needed a fatigue test as surely his late wake up from sleep would have indicated signs of tiredness in the first place.

Italy will be hoping Perrotta doesn't fall asleep when he plays against Spain in Sunday's quarter final.

Roberto Donadoni is likely to deploy a three-man Roma midfield of Perrotta, Daniele De Rossi and Alberto Aquilani according to the latest reports from Italy.

All Roma midfield??

---

Calcio Debate: Should Donadoni Play An All-Roma Midfield?
With Andrea Pirlo and Rino Gattuso both suspended against Spain, Roberto Donadoni has some choices to make in midfield. Anthony Sormani asks who should take their place…Italy have huffed-and-puffed but they have somehow sneaked through into the quarter finals of Euro 2008, where they will be up against possibly the most technically gifted side in the whole tournament; Spain.

The Azzurri’s preparations for the match are not ideal, as they will be without the Milan-duo of Pirlo and Gattuso. The former will be a huge miss, as his playmaking ability would have been a big weapon against the rather flat-looking Spanish backline. As for Gattuso, I agree with those who say that his absence is a blessing in disguise. Although the terrier did reasonably well against France, Spain are just the kind of quicksilver opponent that he has tended to struggle against in the past 12 months.

So who will replace these two Milanisti?

Well there isn’t too much choice, as Donadoni only opted to bring seven midfielders to Austria and Switzerland, the three from Milan, also including Massimo Ambrosini, the Roma trio of De Rossi, Perrotta and Aquilani, and Juventus’ Mauro Camoranesi.

Now that it has been conceded that Don’s 4-3-3 formation was a complete failure, it has left the Azzurri with too many forwards, and too few midfielders. Nevertheless Italy must now work with what they have got. There are growing calls for Donadoni to play the Roma triumvirate, with Mauro Camoranesi supporting the front two of Antonio Cassano and Luca Toni.

I am in favour of this theory, and would rather that Massimo Ambrosini start as a substitute. De Rossi, Aquilani and Perrotta know each other’s game telepathically, and they have a wonderful alternating rotor where they regularly switch positions. This system was put to devastating effect when Roma knocked out Real Madrid in the Champions League last term, beating them home and away. De Rossi and Aquilani were the pick of the bunch during this tie. While Spain have no midfielders from the Real line-up, the Roma trio will certainly draw inspiration from that knockout tie.

While Ambrosini offers a little more defensive protection and experience, Aquilani provides more dynamism, which may be needed against the Spanish, whose quick movements could embarrass Italy just like the Dutch did. Furthermore one can more than rely on De Rossi to guard the Italian defence. His performance against the French was possibly the best individual display in the entire third round of group matches. Playing Ambrosini could be a sign of fear from Donadoni.

Panucci: Villa And Torres Are Strong But We Will Win
Italy defender Christian Panucci is wary of Fernando Torres and David Villa but he is confident of the Azzurri's chances against Spain on Sunday
Roberto Donadoni's men clash with La Furia Roja in the last quarter final of this summer's Euro 2008 tournament this weekend but the bookmakers have the Spanish down as favourites to progress.

Both Villa and Torres have taken Europe by storm so far and many fear that they will reak havoc on La Nazionale.

However, Panucci believes his side's strength and determination will prevail and he doesn't seem too worried over Spain's strike force.

“Torres and Villa are strong that's obvious,” said Panucci.

“Benzema and Henry were supposed to be a strong strike force but look what happened there.

“Me and Chiellini are doing really well at the back and I think he will be one of the best defenders in the world very soon.”

Panucci was Italy's hero against Romania earlier in the group stages as his goal kept the Azzurri from being eliminated early.

His side picked up the pieces against France and now they are looking to finish the repair work against Spain as they look to patch up any weaknesses and beat Luis Aragones' side.

I love how they twist what someone says into a headline.Henry has never shown his true potential with the French NT,so stopping him is not really something to go by.Its a comendable achievment when you add Benzema into the equation and the manner in which Italy have patched up their defence after the Holland game, but against Spain they'd be up against easily the most dangerous forward pairing in the competition.Expect goals.

i dont think that three roma midfield has enough steel to combat Spain's talented midfield. With rino out ambrosini has to start there just provide more cover for that weak back line.

I feel that Italy will win Euro
they were so lucky in the group stage
they will win if this continues
their luck was that France sucked even bigger than Italy
and Romania only had one good player
Italy will go all the way

Stopping a player who scored 42 times for his national side is not an achievement? But I agre Panucci sucks dick... Chiellini is a dominator tho.
