am annoyed with that we twat though, has been great for scotland but hated the way the wee shite bleated on about lithuianias penalty in a game we won 3-1

1.he should not have stuck his leg out so rashly, it was asking for trouble and he should know better
2.miko dived yes, but the way the media has hounded him is embarrasing. scotland have benefitted from dodgy decision in the past and we have conveniently ignored it

3. fletcher plays beside ronaldo, that wee bugger dives left, right and centre. i bet if manure won a penalty froma ronaldo dive against milan fletcher would have praised his "professionalism"

rant over

i was saying the same thing, if you stick your leg out the way that he did inside your box, then you deserve to give away a penalty. it was idiotic and there was no need. All miko needed to do was run an extra yard instead of jump and he would have been brought down anyway.

I like Fletcher but IMO his recent Scotland performances have been poor.

thank you, of course as scotsman i was pissed at the time....but its time for them/us to let it go. fletcher showeda distinct lack of class by continually whining about it:tup:

Donadoni: I Want Respect

Italy Coach Roberto Donadoni has demanded more respect after the Italian press linked Marcello Lippi with a sensational return to the Azzurri hotseat.

Donadoni took over from Lippi following the victorious World Cup campaign last summer but has come under fierce criticism from all corners.

Despite only losing one competitive game in over a year in charge, the ex-Livorno tactician is struggling to qualify Italy for Euro 2008.

In recent days, Lippi said that he would not rule out a return to coaching La Nazionale, and despite later laughing off suggestions that this would happen, Donadoni believes he is not being treated with the respect he deserves.

"I give you all my respect, but I want you to all respect me as well," Donadoni told the press. "When I took over the national team, remember I had already won three Champions Leagues with Milan [as a player].

"It is also important to remember the achievements of me as a player.

"Lippi’s words did not give me trouble. I am calm and I have a group of players who have the same spirit as when they won the World Cup. We can succeed in qualifying for the European Championships."

Ok so now that Scotland lost. Does that mean if we win our next game and draw our game against Scotland we can qualify? This math gets really confusing for me.

Azzurri celebrate Scottish collapse

Italy’s hopes of reaching Euro 2008 received a massive boost when Georgia defeated Group B leaders Scotland in Tbilisi.

The Azzurri face the Scots in Glasgow next month and this result means a draw could be enough to see them through if Roberto Donadoni’s men also beat the Faroe Islands in their last game.

Georgia, who lost 2-0 in Italy last Saturday, had only previously defeated the Faroe Islands in qualifying and were without the injured Milan defender Kakha Kaladze.

Goalkeeper Makaridze was a 17-year-old who had never played for his club, but the timid Scottish attack never really tested him.

It was a 17-year-old Empoli player – who has never featured for the Serie A side – who gave Georgia the lead, Levan Mchelidze rising to nod in a corner kick.

James McFadden had penalty appeals waved away for a Zurab Khizanishvilli challenge, but overall the visitors did not do enough to get back into the game.

Instead Georgia doubled their lead when David Siradze met David Kvirkvelia’s low cross from the left.

This result means that if Italy can beat the Faroe Islands in their final game on November 21, a draw in Glasgow on November 17 will be enough to see them through.

France are also in the running for the two qualifying spots from Group B and take on Lithuania this evening.

The remaining fixtures for the three contenders see Scotland take on Italy in Glasgow on November 17.

France must play Lithuania this evening at home and Ukraine away in their last encounter.

Italy face Scotland away and the Faroe Islands in the peninsula.
