dont think so, i believe he is injured.

however Scotland are missing a host of key players: Scott Brown, Gary Naysmith, Alan Hutton, Paul Hartley, Lee McCulloch, Garry O'Connor and have rushed back Darren Fletcher.

As a Scotland fan I am not confident about this game!
Italy were missing a crap load of good players to, and they were able to beat Georgia. I predict Scotland wins it 1-0 after one brilliant play and the rest of the game they sit back and defend agaisnt Georgia.

    Hopefully you are right!!

I never saw a Scotland fan confident about any game,I really think u guys should be more optimistic,u have a great team who plays with amaizing spirit.
I hope Georgia can do it.
hahah its true, we are rarely confident! its only because whenever we are confident we end up losing and looking like idiots. :p

But who knows it just seems so unlikely that we could top a group with the world champions, world runners up and the world cup quarter finalists, so we think its bound to go wrong somewhere.

dont get me wrong, im glad scotland beat france to wipe the smirks off theyre stupid faces yet france played way better than scotland who only won because of a freak long range goal and some very poor french finishing.
We beat the twice. It is entirely possible we can do the same to Italy.

We have learned from history not to get our hopes up, even our great teams from the past have been prone to fuking up great opportunities. The Scots on here are not representative though, there are many Scots who always expect Scotland to win no matter the strengths of the teams.

Italy's strength in depth is far superior to Scotlands. A few injuries is not nearly as serious a problem for Italy as it is for Scotland.

    Parreira relishes Azzurri challenge

South Africa Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira is looking forward to tomorrow’s friendly against the Azzurri and it will bring back some sweet memories.

The respected tactician was in charge of Brazil when they beat Italy on penalties to win the 1994 World Cup in the USA.

Parreira is preparing to lead the Bafana Bafana out in Siena and admits that it will be a moving occasion.

“To play against Italy will be emotional and also a big step towards the big dream of World Cup 2010,” the ex-Saudi Arabia boss enthused.

“I have happy memories of Italy and they will always be one of the biggest sides in the world – you don’t win four World Cups by chance.

“It will be a good test to see what level we are at,” he continued.

“Even if we are playing Italy B or C, they will have indisputable quality.”

Cagliari’s Pasquale Foggia appears to have shaken off an eye injury he picked up during training yesterday and should be available for selection.

    Don hopes for Scots slip-up

Roberto Donadoni urged Italy’s new boys to make the most of the friendly test with South Africa, but admits his attention is on Georgia-Scotland.

Although the Azzurri will be playing their own match in Siena, their Euro 2008 qualifying hopes are in the balance when the Scots travel to Tbilisi on Wednesday evening.

“In their last game, South Africa caused problems for Scotland. I hope Georgia can do the same. I am accustomed to counting on my own strength, but a little favour in Tbilisi would not be a bad thing,” smiled the tactician.

Scotland currently lead Group B with 24 points, one ahead of Italy and two in front of France. Georgia have no hope of qualifying, as they have just seven points from 10 games.

The situation is very tight, especially as the World Cup winners travel to Glasgow on November 17.

“It would be fun to play for everything in 90 minutes, but at the same time ugly to see a whole year’s work judged on the basis of one night,” added Donadoni.

After the 2-0 victory over Georgia, Italy will field many new faces for the friendly encounter with South Africa.

“I expect enthusiasm and collaboration from the players who are not used to wearing the Azzurri jersey. I think we will see team spirit from the lads.

“There should not be talk of an experimental Italy, because the Italy squad remains the Italy squad at all times. Because these players have never worked together before, we’ll need even more cohesion as a unit.”

Daniele De Rossi has been handed the captain’s armband, while he is expected to be joined in midfield by Fiorentina’s Riccardo Montolivo and Cagliari revelation Pasquale Foggia.

Italy (probable): Amelia; Zaccardo, Gamberini, Bonera, Chiellini; De Rossi, Montolivo, Foggia; Rosina, Mauri; Lucarelli

yeah but italians have a huge habit of under performing internationaly.
How many World Cups they won? :p

Anyway, if Italy play well against Scotland they will win. If they don't and Scotland play well or get lucky, who knows.

I'm still not confident of beating Georgia.

Do u know that Italy have never beaten Scotland in Scotland in their entire history!
It is more tricky for Italy than u think,Italy is the one who needs some luck.
Scotland showed that they can defend amaizingly especially in Hampden,I am stil putting a lot of hope on the Georgia game but if Scotland won today, they have a great chance of exploding the Upset.

like i said before it would be typical scotland to lose tonight, draw against italy and end up praying for france to slip up in ukraine or italy to throw it away in the last game. i the 89th minute we would be going to the tourament, two late goals from trezeguet and del piero would seal our fate in the dying seconds of their games and scotland will be heroic falures once again

am annoyed with that we twat though, has been great for scotland but hated the way the wee shite bleated on about lithuianias penalty in a game we won 3-1

1.he should not have stuck his leg out so rashly, it was asking for trouble and he should know better

2.miko dived yes, but the way the media has hounded him is embarrasing. scotland have benefitted from dodgy decision in the past and we have conveniently ignored it

    3. fletcher plays beside ronaldo, that wee bugger dives left, right and centre. i bet if manure won a penalty froma ronaldo dive against milan fletcher would have praised his "professionalism"

    rant over
