You know I was saying to myself Borriello's name seemed soo familiar for something other than his skill on the field and it hit me while I was in class......He is the one who tested positive for steriods because his girlfriend gave him herpes and she told him to use that cream! Oh you can definitely have him. I don't have time for herpes. Heres the link in case you forgot.

I cant understand why The Scots in this forum are playing down their chances in qualifying,I know that ur NT has dissapointed u a lot in the final stages BUT I really think that if they managed to beat Georgia on Wednesday, they will be really close of exploding a Surprise,U should all be so Optimistic & proud of what ur NT is doing.

A draw against Italy in Scotland is not that hard,if they went on & played with the same spirit that they played the french team in their 2 encounters, they would at least come out with a draw.
That said.
It will really be a disaster not seeing Italy in the Euro.

The thing is, if the scots will play for a draw, they might loose it all. I think they'll both play must win match.....which will make it alot interesting.

I am proud of what we have achieved. It is just that we have a record of doing the hard work then fall at the final hurdle. It will hurt less when it happens when it is expected.

we would play for a draw against Italy in any game that wasn't must win.

De Rossi is walking a fine line between confidence and over-confidence.

We have beaten France twice and they are at Italy's level.
dont get me wrong, im glad scotland beat france to wipe the smirks off theyre stupid faces yet france played way better than scotland who only won because of a freak long range goal and some very poor french finishing.

You're right enough. Just re-read what he said.

I still think Donadoni is an idiot though.
i agree 100% about crapadoni yet i think that unless italy are missing a number of their top players they are to strong for scotland. plus now that our players are match fit we wont see them playing like crap. Scotland will have theyre workcut out for them against georgia anyway and if they don't win then they have to beat italy. Scotland even if they don't qualify should be proud of theyre NT who were drawn into an unfairly difficult group and played fantastic in it. I still hope that Ukraine beat France and so italy and the scots can both progress

is Kaladze playing with Georgia on Wednesday?
dont think so, i believe he is injured.

however Scotland are missing a host of key players: Scott Brown, Gary Naysmith, Alan Hutton, Paul Hartley, Lee McCulloch, Garry O'Connor and have rushed back Darren Fletcher.

As a Scotland fan I am not confident about this game!

I'd just like to point out a few facts that maybe relevant, or may not mean a damn thing. We all agree that Enzo Bearzot was a brilliant coach right?

So how come, after the 82 WC we didn't qualify for Euro 84? Despite being in a group with Romania, Sweden, Czechoslovakia & Cyprus we only managed one win (v Cyprus when already out) & 3 draws (v Czech, Cyprus & Romania)?

Im not Donadoni's biggest fan but maybe this is deeper than having a coach who lacks charisma, a tough group or poor fixture planning? Maybe winning a big tournament is a drain on a team & a country. Factor in the enevitable "end of an era" feeling witth retirements etc & a pattern emerges. After research I found that

France failed to qualify for Euro 88 despite being holders

Holland bombed at Italia 90 despite being European Champs & were held to draws by all 3 oppnents in the group - England, Eire & Egypt!

Italy failed to qualify for Euro 92 despite a 3rd place finish at Italia 90, a fate often befalling 3rd place team at World Cups, with Italy being the victim in 1970, then followed by Poland in 74, Belgium in 86, Croatia in 98, & Turkey in 2002.

Denmark failed to qualify for WC 1994 despite winning Euro 92

France collapsed in group stage of 2002 WC despite being reigning World & European Champs, follwing it up with defeat to Greece in the 2nd round of Euro 2004, who went on to win, then failed to qualify for 2006 WC.

I know all of this is relative, & that Donadoni is still a pi$$ poor coach (with a charisma bypass), that the team has without doubt underperformed, but found this post-success hangover quite interesting.

I never saw a Scotland fan confident about any game,I really think u guys should be more optimistic,u have a great team who plays with amaizing spirit.
I hope Georgia can do it.
