Arsenal signed Saliba from St. Etienne and Gabriel from Lille, both great CB potentials.

Surprised they didn't go for free agent Thiago Silva and signed him on big wages instead, it's kinda their thing.

Don't see much wrong with his decision. CL football, good wage, starring role and a project that is based on young players.
If group stages are enough for him then it's ok, but thought this kid was destined for more. His wages will definitely skyrocket, but he could sign for a much bigger club.

€80M + €20M is too much, but it's EPL team so yeah..

He's 21 so plenty of time to move clubs if things don't go as planned at Chelsea. Seems weird to just write him off because he moves to Chelsea.

Was sceptical when Werner moved too, but idk. From the outside it looks like they are building an interesting team.
You never know with these kind of projects on how they'll pan out, but I'm sure the Chelsea fans are super excited with these signings. I know I would be if we'd sign the players they have. Some of their signings are young and are coming from outside of the PL so might take a while for them to get going and to find consistency.

In fact, in Bundesliga they all want Bayern. Havertz just choosed the easier path.
I fail to see how Chelsea is an easier path for a German than Bayern. Moving to Bayern is playing football career on beginner difficulty.

I suppose you can't sign them all, anyway.

I laughed out loud at this:
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Sport1: “I say very clearly, financially a transfer for Havertz will not be possible this year.

“It’s my wish for (Bayer managing director) Rudi Voller that he stays one more year in Leverkusen.”
Hey Rudi can you keep him for another year, yeah don't sell him to anyone else because we can't afford him this year, but we'll grab him next year. There's a good lad.

Mind blown, how do you do it?

As for Chelsea, I know they had an embargo so have cash to spend but it does make you wonder about FFP in a Covid-19 season when they have spent €56m plus allegedly €20m agent fee on Werner, looking at €80m plus all the rest for Havertz, €40m for Ziyech, €60m plus for Declan Rice, €60m for Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva going on a fat 2-year deal. Having said that, they could be making €200m from the sales of Hazard, Morata and a couple of fringe players, so maybe it's not a huge stretch for them.
