Verratti's salary is completely legit.
No it isn't. It's 7 mil gross. Not net.

http://www.newsjit.com/psg-players-salary-20152016-psg-players-weekly-wages/

45k in British pounds works out to just over 60k in euros weekly net. Which is 3-3.5mil euros net/per season or 6-7mil gross.

As I said that list gives Verratti and Giovinco salaries as gross and Italian salaries as net. They do it all the time to discredit Serie A and make it seem like Italian teams are in dire poverty and can't pay top wages which isn't true at all.

we can't afford to pay the wages that the absolute top players earn, but we can offer competitive wages with anyone in the next category of players.

Real were ready to offer a €7m net salary according to Di Marzio but he'll sign a contract extension worth half the wage, seems legit...

And what kind of shit source is that ? Post a more credible source and I'll be inclined to believe you.French sources always report wages in net figures not gross.

Verratti is one of the established top players at PSG now. When Ibra earns €15m net and Silva-€12m net, it's natural to assume Verratti earns a wage close to €7m net.

Not to mention PSG has one of the highest wage bills in Europe and he's repeatedly been linked with Real and Barça.PSG always keep extending their top players' contracts to thwart off interest.

Post a single source other than that garbage picture you posted that says Gio makes 8.5 mil net...

Sorry. I can't find a single thing that suggests Verratti makes anywhere close to 15 mil gross, 7 mil net. He's under negotiations to extend contract again right now and maybe they do bump him up into that salary region, but last summer he added a year extension to his contract and everything on the internet says his gross salary is around 45k British pounds per week in net. Which is 3.5ish net per year, 7 mil gross.

You tell me to post a better source while your own source is absolute shit and can't even report Gio's wages properly.

Aside from this he hasn't signed a new contract with PSG yet, since Real "apparently" offered him contract of 7 mil net this summer. Which Real denied. So you're saying Verratti is already making 7 mil net and Real thought they'd tempt him to force a transfer away from PSG by offering what he already makes. Sure makes a lot of sense.

His agent is pretty clearly trying to get his salary bumped into that region but he absolutely isn't making that right now from his summer 2014 contract extension.

Verrattis salary is in net. They always talk about Ibra's net salary being 15m here in Sweden and how PSG have to pay over 30m just to keep him around.

Verratti needs better agent, he is pretty much most important player after Ibras injuries and he has 10 players that earn more then him.
It's because his last salary renegotiation was summer 2014 when he was 21 and coming off a good but not incredible 2013/2014. He improved leaps and bounds this past season and is definitely one of their top 2-3 players now. I wouldn't be surprised if the current salary renegotiation goes into that 7mil net area. But it's not currently there is my point.

I think people are quite misguided when suggesting the crazy salary numbers for other big teams. Yes, they are high, but not the crazy numbers some suggest. Otherwise the difference in wage bill would be way bigger. UEFA's financial report gave PSG's wage bill at 235mil euros, and Juventus at 184 mil euros for 2014. The numbers just don't work if PSG is paying so many players above 7mil net and not gross.

Ibra earns €16.2m gross...? that's €8m net....less than his salary at Milan which was €9m net.....ok...

Good night gents.
That's what I was wondering. That list looks more like net salary. Which would make sense for Verratti too, being at 4.8 net which would be around 9 mil net in France if I recall their tax rate correctly.

Those being net salaries also make sense with UEFA reporting of PSG wage bill of 235 mil last year which would have gone up to over 250mil this year with addition of Di Maria.

So Verratti makes similar to/slightly more than Pogba. Makes sense.

Hard to know if there's no official data. Don't forget that it's only taken into account 17 players and there's no costs for technical staff and other employees, which Uefa probably included in their report. Tried to find other French sources, but they're all quoting le Parisien.

Juve's salary with players and tecnical stuff is at 179m and then there's 20m for other employees of the club, which in overall makes our salary budget of almost 200m for the last season.

brute = gross, so yes those are not the nets
They seem low as net. But then again doubling them to get net seems absurdly high. Reporting on salaries outside of Serie A and BPL seems so iffy.

You guys are probably right though. I just don't see anyone coming to Serie A or staying here if other teams are paying over double what we pay. Higuain for example would have never gone to Napoli for 6.5 net, if clubs like PSG are paying half their squad more than that. It has to be somewhere between the numbers DP84 sourced and the ridiculous numbers others are saying without sources.

Sorry for going on about this. I'm just legitimately interested in this, as I really don't understand how Serie A could attract even the top players it has if PSG and other clubs are paying what some in this thread are suggesting. Even the Zlatan stuff. Tons of garbage sources saying he makes 15mil net and tons saying he makes around that gross. But no official data.

As well, there is absolutely no way Pogba would have signed an extension at 4.5mil if other clubs could offer him 10mil already. Same deal with Higuain and any other top player still in Serie A. These clubs can pay their players more than we can, but even the Italians wouldn't stay at Juve if other teams could pay them double. Something's way off about Wage reporting in France and Spain.

Is Germany more transparent? Are there official figures for what Bayern pays its players?
