It all depends on how efficiently they convert idea to reality. If it's anywhere nearly as good as shown in the video, I'll not hesitate to buy it :)

Quite innovative, I should say. Plus it is finally HD. Would like to see the games catalogue for it before buying it though.
It's only coming out in 2012. I'm pretty sure it'll be sometime in the summer as well, so they have quite some time to get it on par with expectations.

What do you mean by finally HD? Is that a new console or only a new controller? I thought it was only a controller.

Anyway, it looks great and if it is only a controller, I am definitely adding it to my other Wii stuff.

I read somewhere that the WiiU supports full HD resolution. So I was under the impression that current Wii games did not support 1080p resolution.

    Supports 1080p

Personally I think it's to much going on at once. I'll stick to my controller and tv.

Oh btw, nintendo used some Xbox 360/Ps3 videos in there press conference ..

That is true, the current Wii is not HD but at first I thought that was only a controller, apparently it is a new console that supports HD.

    OF course they did.

No price point, no release date.

I can only imagine what the price is going to be on this. This is not your grandfather's Nintendo system. That controller alone is going to be a small fortune.

Meh. Nintendo lost me once they came out with the Gamecube, anyway.

Some nice features for the Wii U, but I need more as it looks to be nothing more than an expansion of what they were pushing with the Wii, but now it can compete with the other consoles. Motion control will never be anything more than a gimmick that I could care less about as I really don't want to pretend I can slice up baddies from multiple directions in Zelda. Swinging my arms about wildly is not what I want to do with my gaming time.

I'm sick of all this family friendly kiddie horse shit that nintendo keeps on pumping out. Release more serious games and less gimmicky consoles, please.

the only plus point coming from all of this is taht the WIIU will be completely backwards compatible. so although you will have to buy the new console you should still be able to use your WIi peripherals and games
