Marchisio could easily play in the place we put Blasi not too many years ago with our CL status. So loaning him out, IMO, given the upside, seemed a bit rash. Giovinco needs to play more before I could get to that level of trust in the guys starter abilities. But Marchisio has at least earned his role as a second-stringer with regular subbing at midfield -- if not also occasional starts in place of injured or tired first team starters.

But Vinni, you can't expect a player to impress to his full potential at a brand new club, especially a young talent who will not have the likes of Nedved, Del Piero and Zanetti surrounding him. What I think we're doing is setting him up for failure. He's just 20 years old and now he will be inserted into a team that he doesn't know while he knows that his performances will determine whether or not he comes back to Juve. Great.
Marchisio won't learn sitting on the Juve bench....

But will he learn under inferior coaches and training regimes? Playing time in Serie A isn't everything, as we have seen. Come on, Vinni, you know full well the success record of loan outs. From Juventus, it's been rather pathetic and virtually all the players we've sent on loan have not always recieved much playing time. We'll see about Marchisio, but I'm not thrilled about this move. It's fucking goddamn stupid to think playing time in Serie A is the only thing that improves a player.

Excuse me while I drown myself in the Atlantic Ocean.
Last night all I remember is talking to Andrew Thomas on the phone for around an hour and a half.... Then, at some later date in time, I must have some how gotten myself down to the highway and been hit by a large moving object. At least that is what my body feels like happened.

Guess what, real Italians speak more Italian than enough to get by ;).
