Last year I worked for an NGO that shall remain nameless...our hours of work were roughly from 8 am to 6 pm with an hour and half break for lunch..in reality the schedule was not rigid as most of us were professionals working on long term projects. A man who shall remain nameless stopped working 5 times a day for 10 minutes because according to his faith it was his duty to pray and all that jazz...so roughly one hour a day was spent praying.
Yesterday I saw this same guy by chance and he told me he was 'going back home' because Italy was an intolerant country...
I smiled and asked him "we should exchange phone numbers..maybe I'll come and visit you one day..actually I may be in the area in March...can I come by with my girlfriend"
He encouraged me to visit but stated "be very careful with your manner...be very careful with the cross around your neck ..don't expose it too much and tell your girlfriend she must NOT wear anything short ...all her legs must be covered and she must wear a head scarf..she also cannot walk without you"
I asked "ok ... just let me know where the Roman Catholic Churches are...so I can swing by when I'm there.."
He looked at me..."we have no roman catholic churches..we are a muslim nation"

This issue has been buried for quite some time. While the construction of the Apple store it was covered with black cloth (or boards?) to hide it from the public, resulting in a big black cube. Nothing wrong there, but then the store was dubbed "apple mecca", here is where the problem began. The word "mecca" caused confusion and most non-english speaking muslims thought it meant "Makkah" the city. Anyways I am sad to say that Muslims have become so sensetive too anything, that in lots of cases we make fools of ourselves...Sheer ignorance!!:faq1:

Are you a Bangladeshi farmer? I also wonder where the oldest churches in the world are (yes believe it or not older than the ones in Rome). Now you can either take the time and research a subject or you can come here rant about what you obviously dont know and look like a complete fool.

Obviously you don't have any idea what you are talking about. There is actually one prayer that falls within the 8AM-6PM working hours. Three generally don't fall between 6-8, while one would most probably fall in the lunch hour....but you wouldn't know that, because you too consumed of trying to be witty.

Other than the terrorist attacks perpetrated by some whackos who consider me, my family, the government, and all foriegners as infidels?? I don't think so...

Let me tell you Vinnie that I wouldn't be exaggerating if I said that almost 50% of households would have christians (and non-muslims) as staff, maids, drivers...etc.

This report is just laughable vinnie. I myself hosted a couple of Americans two years ago, and let me tell you that their idea of the country changed 180 degrees, before and after....

depends actually. There could be between two and four. Depends on which part of Islam the person and what time the Maghrib prayer is.

Huh? What part of Islam?? What do you mean??

And if you read again, I used words like generally and most probably. And in Italy, I would bet that Maghrib prayer would be after 6...its after 6 over here in Saudi....

Shiiia(shi3a) would join the maghrib and Asr(so that would be one time). But Sonna would have to time since they dont join(so thats twice)

yeah my bad about the Maghrib, miscalculated. Cuz back in bahrain, the maghrib would be abt 5:30 last year when i was back.
