I don't believe Moggi's the only one responsible. Sure, the media turned this thing into "Moggiopoli", but I don't buy that crap. Far more people are involved, and not all of them because of Moggi.

May be so, but it is impossible to separate Moggi from Juventus. When he acted he acted as Juventus.

So speak of Moggi with regret, but speak of Moggi with pride.
i find that pretty difficult. even people who dont follow football are mocking juve now. what pride?

    ALL JUVE ALL THE TIME:

Latest conversations released involving Lucky Luciano Moggi go something like this:

    1. THE PAPARESTA INCIDENT:
Moggi locks Paparesta in the room in Reggio Calabria after the Reggina match and later speaks to Giraurdo telling him "that guy is finished..I will see to it that he is officiating overseas...I promise I will do what I need to for that guy to be out of there.."
Moggi then states he will go on Il Processo Di Biscardi where he and Biscardi (the ROLEX MAN for receiving a Rolex from Moggi) will rip apart Paparesta.

The head of the Association of Italian refs apologizes to MOGGI for Paparesta and says 'he will be dealt with' then asks Moggi to have supper at his house and bring some Juve jerseys for the kids. :disagree:

    2. THE LIPPI INCIDENT

Moggi speaks to Cannavaro's agent who is livid because suspiciously Cannavaro is not playing against Belarus but was called up...Moggi explains to the agent that Cannavaro just take a seat on the bench and that "this is not Inter...we need him to play many games and these small games could bring BIG risks" The agent is still furious because he says Canna knows he will not play even as a reserve and Moggi has enough and tells him to take it easy.

Moggi speaks to Lippi and explains he is not happy with Cannavaro's bitching...Lippi replies that Cannavaro has been complaining about not starting and Lippi even explains to Moggi that he told Cannavaro "I'm not really the national team coach here...." i.e. decision is not mine.

    Have your say.

@Nick - what you have posted is a bit of a joke. If you saw the Reggina match in question, and I guess you did, you saw some of the most blatant acts of theft that a referee can commit. So, Moggi or anyone else in that position would be justified in ranting about having the ref sent to Siberia. People always say "I'll kill that guy" but rarely carry it out.

Moggi picking the National Team? So what? This has nothing to do with Juventus, imo. Something like that is no part of the real problem, which is fixing the matches by influening the referees. This is where Moggi gets us into trouble, imo.

    1. HORSESHIT....The fact that an official who is to represent OFFICIALS speaks openly about Paparesta's sanctions to a team official is WRONG. The fact that Moggi dines at this house and brings him gifts is quite simply against everything that is far. The fact that Moggi speaks of his influence to get that guy demoted is proof enough that he had way too much of a say in things.

    2. YOU KIDDING? He decides if his players play regardless of the fact that are selected..why have a coach then...why not run the list by team managers so they can decide whether their players should play depending on their schedule....What power does Lippi have?? And the fact that he says "I'M NOT REALLY THE COACH.." speaks volumes about what is going on

Horseshit to you, my friend. Influence? Oh, did Paparesta get demoted? Did Paparesta start refing matches in Botswana? No and No. So, where is the influence?

Lippi just spent 3 hours telling the opposite to prosecutors. So, you believe Lippi or the outlets like ieatvillage.com?

Nick, do you honestly believe that Marcello Lippi, the most respected coach in Italy, the man who has won every trophy on offer, the man who was not afraid to sit the great Roberto Baggio on the bench, the man who refuses to blink in his war with Cristian Panucci (whom Italia needs in Germany), WOULD EVER TELL a player that "I am not really the coach" ????

I cannot see Mr. Lippi making such a statement.

Today the English press reports that Marcello Lippi has been removed as National Team coach of Italy (Known as Mafiaville in England). Lippi has had to resign his post so that he may begin serving a prison sentence on June 5, 2006. Though he has never been convicted of any crimes, it is assumed in England that Lippi must be guilty of some wrong doing, he is Italian after all.

When asked to comment, Lippi simply stated, "Your father did business with Hyman Roth. Your father respected Hyman Roth. But, your father never TRUSTED Hyman Roth".

Lippi is expected to be replaced on the Italy bench by long-time Michael Corleone associate, Frankie Pentangeli.
