Everyone instantly recognizes the V, but most don't even remember what it stands for anymore.

so what are the other big J names we have to compete with? Jews, Jesus, Jackass, Japan, Jizz, Jazz, Jersey.. Japan, Jizz and Jersey are doable, but I'm not sure we'll ever outrun Jews. Juventus and Jesus market opportunity is surely something we have to look in

It's an ugly logo, and I sincerely hope we aren't considering discarding the original club crest for our official jerseys and such. It took them a full year to come up with that piece of shit? Someone is really milking it at the Creativity, Marketing, and R&D departments.

You're right. They change often. I'm not a big fan of change in this regard, but I guess it happens. Fwiw I don't think the new logo is that ugly either. But it sort of bothers me that it wasn't designed as a crest on a football shirt. They're going to put this on suits, watches, shirts and all sorts of stuff. I understand the business idea behind it. And I will learn to accept it. At least our club isn't the personal toy of some sheikh or Russian mega criminal. But the evolution is still sort of upsetting.

The new logo was only used on those sites for a day as part of the launch.

We'll use to old logo until July and then start using the new one in everything.

To create the buzz again. The other thing is that sponsors might still want to earn on the old logo, Adidas especially, since they created the whole clothes line with the old logo.

Its like a prelaunch buzz, you get that a lot in technology where they would announce a product or software months before its actually launched. In our case its stretching to 6 month.
I guess the other reason is theres still work for them to upgrade all the logos around the club office, bus, merchandising etc so to give them sufficient time they are setting it for a new season, new jerseys, new kirching. To me it makes sense as to why will launch it at the start of the season and why its being announced early.

I voted No in the poll but only because I dont like the design, as for the necessarily evil at to why we should have it as a new logo then it would have been a yes. I presume thats how a lot of the No's feel as well.

I think this was the reason for the launch date. On weekends we want the focus to be on the pitch so Monday was probably a good day to do it.

it's similar with movies where the initial trailer or teaser could be released a year before the movie, then a few months before the movie they start showing the official trailer in cinemas and a week or two before everyone involved give interviews about the new film to everyone that's willing to listen to them
