The irony is. IF (and its a HUGE IF) Khedira and Asamoah are mostly injury free, then I see our starting mid three being Khedira-Pjanic-Asamoah (while Marchisio is absent). This is regardless of whether we get Matic, Herrera or whoever else is realistically being connected to us. Pogba is fancy and all, but I remember we played as well or even better with Asamoah's no nonsense approach - with fewer mistakes.

When was that? Asamoah played LWB, not CM, it was MVP bailing out our midfield not him.

An Asamoah at his absolute prime isn't fit to replace Pogba, let alone when he seems to lost so much after never ending injuries in position he hasn't played in regularly for years.

Even if he is overrated he is more exciting than Matic.

Also there was more to talk about, not so known so required amateur scouting also mini saga of the transfer sums connected to him that was constant contention.

Why would he be more exciting if Matic is twice the player?

Unknown top talent factor, younger, more dynamic in being technical offensive CM etc. You pick.

Unknown describes him the most.

But if I might add I'd say overrated while being unknown and a big question mark who was paid 50mln euros. Yougn and more dynamic means nothing. And he showed absolutely nothing at the Euros, he seemed like a player who's a sub for Milan and who costs 12mln euros.

Do I pick? Ok, I pick Matic, because what he showed and what is he capable of is great. I've seen plenty of him even at U-21 where he stood as a brilliant player. He did have a crappy season at Chelsea, but so did Chelsea overall. Season before that he was great, he was amazing at the top level. Hell, having him next to Pjanic and Marchisio would be great.

I agree generally even if I want a more complete or imaginative player then Matic in our team.

We already got one and that's Pjanic. Matic would compensate his flaws when it comes to physical dominance on the pitch. IMO that trio would be very good.

My ideal pick would be Verratti, though, which is not quite realistic at this point.

Care to name some player who you had in mind? It's not like I'm pushing or saying Matic is the best pick, I can't really think of any names bar Herrera.

Which is way we should try/should have tried to keep Pogba at all costs. I'm now hearing that Marchisio might be out until December. We are incredibly thin in midfield. We don't need Pogba departing to compound our misery.

it's up to juventus. If they want we can turn down any offer as the player still have 3 years of contract.
We could sell next year if he doesn't want to renew his contract.
Let's pray management thinks like you and me. Keep at all costs

even more because losing a midfield made by Pogba-Pirlo-Vidal in just 2 years hurt so much.

at the moment there aren't any good cms avaible and young. Matuidi 29... Matic 29 , Witsel 28 in 5months
What's the point? just keep Pogba for one more year and look for chances next summer.

- Half november and he's progres is better then expected
- Money dab ho's wanted out himself, and his agent knows how to force that (zlatan), which would crash the price
- We got excellent quality but we need to get replacement still
- Today is august 2nd

If the player doesnt want to stay, as in really doesnt, you can expect Pogba to play all of next year like its september-december 2015. Which will crash the price.

or let's steal Goretzka or Dahoud at least they're 21 and 20 and looks decent.
rather than Witsel,Matuidi,Matic of whatever. We need to bring youth in the midfield

if the player doesn't want to stay you remind him that he signed a paper called contract and that if we want he'll stick here for the next 3 years.
You can tell him you'll stay this year but we'll sell you next year where you'll be 24 not 28.
If he wants offerts to come he has to play up to the level.

anyway if he goes let's bring in Dahoud or Goretzka or maybe both. Or one of them + Tielemans

You don't know that Pogboom wants out. You just choose to believe what you want. I want to think that it is far more complicated than just a simple notion of "he wants to leave, let him go." I don't see PSG players rushing/clamoring to leave, and they play in a shitty league. Granted, their wages are insane, but it isn't like we pay pittance either.

We don't have excellent quality, outside of Pjanic, Marchisio, and Khedira. Asamoah is not a guarantee at this point, and Lemina is too raw. Pereyra and Hernanes should be shipped asap, and Sturaro is a limited player with a specific skill-set.

August 2nd means there are 29 days left until the end of the mercato, which implies that we are going to be scurrying/scampering to find adequate cover, and likely end up being stuck with another Hernanes, just like last year.
