how about explaining the problem? What happened? erased disk, literally 'lost' a disk? experience shows that normally, data just doesn't get lost. even if erased, there are possibilities to call back up to a certain point 'deleted data'.

I have deleted folder accidentally
don't worry. there are ways to get back the data... just look around for the apropriate software. The important thing is that you don't do too much data-saving/moving around right now. Because the space which was occupied by your juve-files are now marked as 'whitespace' and the position in your drive is marked for a possible overwriting. So i wouldn't install programs/save a lot of files/defragment/clean-up too much. I'll have a look for software names, and will post them if i find any

edit:
just google for "recover deleted data"
i now found these three

http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,23067-order,1-page,1/description.html
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,23108-order,1-page,1/description.html
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,23069-order,1-page,1/description.html

but there are tons. those 3 are free. Hope it helps. good luck

This pretty much covers it, again don't install the recover data program on the same partition where the deleted files resided. You may (will) overwrite part of them with the installation.

One of those programs will get data back and have in mind that their names will be shortened with 8+3 characaters (DOS naming).

Good luck Turk, let us know how it went. :xfinger:

This is a serious and frustrating problem...
professional help may cost a great deal,
since your trash bin cannot hold that much, i guess the data were permanently erased,
just check the partition and try a few of those recovery programs and next time hold a back up in dvds...

Yeah, they have you over a barrel if you go to the professionals to get it back. If you merely deleted that, it's probably still there but you'd have to cease disk activity entirely on it until you recover. But the pros here typically charge no less than $1500 for crap like that. And if you tell them it isn't business critical (because that's who they get to pay that amount), they can do it for you for "just" $1200 and you wait 3 months to have it done.

I speak from experience when I lost a 120Gb music collection on a NAS disk that went bad. I buy disks in pairs ever since.

Sorry. No magic wands here. Sounds like you have to start over or shell out a ton of money that won't be worth it.

Spend 10 hours per day in the multimedia section downloading everything you can. Then do like fgh5 or whatever his name was and ask for pictures in larger sizes.

Keep on doing that until I ban you :D
