Pavel Nedved verso il Monaco
06 06 2006

Pavel Nedved is being associated with a sensational move to Monaco should Juventus be demoted this summer.

Reports in the Czech media insist that their national hero is pondering a move to the Principality after Jan Koller, his international teammate, joined the French side earlier this week.

Nedved has admitted that he could quit either football or Juve if the Old Lady are relegated to Serie B.

The Italian champions run the risk of demotion, with a number of other Serie A clubs, if allegations of match-fixing are proved.

Although there were some suggestions that the Czech ace would be ready to play on in Turin even in a lower tier, he recently revealed that he’s pondering his options.

"After the World Cup anything could happen. I will be 34-years-old in the summer, I do not know if I will still want to play," the 2003 European Player of the Year said last month.

"I have not yet taken the decision if I will or will not finish my international career or my career as a player, but the possibility is there.

"There is a lot of talk in Turin of an eventual relegation to the Second Division,” continued the former Lazio man.

“I must wait to see how the situation develops at Juventus - it is that which will decide my decision about the future."

Nedved is currently on international duty where he is preparing for the World Cup Finals with his nation.

The scorer of 17 goals in 85 internationals, Nedved will face Italy this summer after being drawn in Group E with the Azzurri, USA and Ghana.

Nedved’s present Juventus contract isn’t set to expire until the summer of 2008 after he penned an extension last year.
